In early modern herbals, Hellebores were described as a plant whose presence signaled threshold spaces. It was believed to ward off malevolent spirits, acting as a kind of petaled guardian. We adore these plants and use them often in our work. Shop the collection, available through our store online.

Tonight we tour a minimalist townhouse on New York’s Upper East Side, designed by @robjohansen alongside architect Nicholas Deramo of @studio.nda . Three years in the making — and worth every one of them.

The driving idea was simple: let the materials do the talking. Onyx quarried from ancient seabeds. Namibia marble formed in desert heat. A kitchen that draws quietly from Japanese culinary tradition — not as a style reference, but as a commitment to clarity and function. The clients’ collection follows the same thread: Ruhlmann alongside Maria Pergay, Rick Owens next to Jorge Zalszupin, Pierre Paulin beside Ayala Serfaty lighting. Different periods, different cultures, different vocabularies — but every piece chosen for the same reason. Material honesty over decoration.

The onyx bathroom stops you in your tracks. Stone that has existed for millions of years, catching morning light through century-old window frames. Some rooms just make you stand still.

A panoramic wallcovering like this leaves no room for shortcuts.
Every panel, seam, corner, and transition has to align perfectly for the landscape to read as one continuous scene.

From carefully planning the layout to maintaining the mural’s flow around architectural details, this installation was all about precision.
The result is a seamless finish where the craftsmanship quie
tly disappears — and the room simply feels complete.

For this large renovation in Venice, we’re breathing some new life into this white stucco box. With nods to brazilian modernists like Niemeyer and Costa and some earthy 70s warmth, we’re aiming to make this home feel like it’s been here for a while.
