Please stop doing this 🙏🏼 I hear it far too often… people tell me they are afraid or sceptical of going to the Physio because they don’t want to stop doing their sport. Most good physios are looking for a way to keep you doing what you love as much as they can whilst keeping you safe. If your Physio isn’t doing these things, maybe you were right to be sceptical: 1. Taking the time to understand what is important to you not just how the injury came to be. Your whole rehab should be tailored around you and what your goals are. We need to know what sports you’re doing, how often your training, how are you train and what competitions are coming up. 2. Give yourself management strategies. These are typically things that they get you to do that help you with pain or getting through your next game, session or competition knowing that it’s not gonna solve your problem but allows you to keep competing in the meantime. 3. Takes the time to explain the difference between fixing your injury or managing it. 4. Explains what pain during exercise means for you for your safety profile and how to moderate your loads accordingly. 5. If you are ruled out from competition, they are still encouraging you to maintain your cardio and your strength training and giving you alternative options to get it done. If you’re Physio isn’t doing this and you would like help with your pain problems, let me know. #sportsphysio #injury #physio #innerwestsydney #sport

Dealing with jaw pain or clicking? You don’t have to push through it. 🛑 We teamed up to discuss best-practice, holistic care options for our cross-referring patients dealing with severe jaw pain and lockjaw (TMJ). Managing jaw issues often requires a team effort between dental and physiotherapy care to get the best long-term results. The #marrickville #innerwest connection is strong! 💪 @robmoreyphysio from @theperformanceinstitute_ popped in to visit @drjimnguyen at @truesmilesdentalclinic 💬 Are you struggling with jaw stiffness or pain? Comment below or send us a DM to see how a joint dental and physio approach can help you get relief. #MarrickvillePhysio #MarrickvilleDentist #TMJAwareness

Knee pain isn’t random — it’s usually a message.
Swipe through to learn why knee pain occurs and how we approach fixing it from a physiotherapist’s perspective. At The Performance Institute, we don’t just treat the knee — we assess movement, strength, load, and biomechanics to address the root cause, not just the symptoms. Because lasting results come from understanding why it hurts in the first place. 📍 The Performance Institute
