What makes a performance unforgettable? Sometimes, it’s what isn’t on the page.

From Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy in Hocus Pocus to Michael Caine and Robert Duvall in Secondhand Lions, legendary producer and creator David Kirschner has seen firsthand how great actors bring something uniquely their own to a character.

This Halloween Season, he joins Robert Peterpaul on our latest episode of How We Role to talk memorable characters, bold acting choices and the creative risks that make a performance stand out.

New episode drops Tuesday.

What an honor to be part of HARMONY’s history as a member of the professional regional premiere. This is one of those shows that is a gift to perform. It’s the alchemy of a passionate director, a compassionate team, and an all too resonant story. Thank you to all who were part of bringing HARMONY to life from its years of workshops and development to the Broadway team and producers. I hope this show has a long life and continues to be a conduit for personal reflection.

And most of all, thank you to my fellow cast members. It was joyful to find harmony with you.

Are you reacting too late?

According to casting director and Acting Science Method creator Faith Hibbs Clark, one of the keys to a believable performance happens before you ever say the line.

It’s not just an acting choice, there’s actual science behind it.

Faith breaks down the why behind what works on camera on an all-new episode of How We Role, coming Tuesday.
