Yesterday! The launch of Rochdale Music Stories @voltalabsoundstudios

Big well done to the organising team @karen.boardman.31 , John and Rosemary of @stockportmusicstory and Laura and Jamie from VoltaLab and their crew Alex and Dan. All the help from the team at Rochdale, especially Georgia #rochdalecreates

Brilliant to hear the stories of those who recorded at Cargo and to hear about Chris Connelly’s book. All followed by meeting young musicians and artists who are reworking those classic tracks!

@peterhook_thelight @martinmoscrop Andy McCluskey @realclintboon the wonderful John Brierley (without whom there’d be no Cargo)

Great to see @kazmcb (external line up shot magic) @paulajgreenwood @robsonicpr

Bristol here we come!

Super excited to be part of Gigantic @giganticalldayer once again in May 2026! Me and @jasejonesmed the Renegade Masters of Disaster take on the resident DJs from Shiiine On Festival @shiiine_on_ for our annual wheels of steel DJ tournament 🏟️

There is a big announcement coming on Sunday 31st of August when the line up for next year is announced! It’s an absolute banger…so start pencilling in your hotels for Saturday 9th May next year!

Going to be bigger and better than ever before in the @theprospectbuilding

Hope to see loads of you there because if it’s anything like last year it’s going to be a cracker!

Was going to add music but then thought…duh! That’ll give the game away! Unless you want to hear my version of ‘The Wanderer’

Despite severe jet lag and only getting home the night before! We knew we had to get to see Iggy Pop in Manchester, the reviews had been great and you’re not going to get the chance to see him many more times, particularly in the UK! Did we make the right choice?

Too f*cking right we did! He was insanely good and he to quote one of his own songs “ Was a streetwalking cheetah with a heart full of napalm, a runaway son of a nuclear A-Bomb” How he does it at 78 defies logic…with one leg shorter than the other and a twisted spine he still owns the stage like a man 40 years younger! The band are bloody great, really tight, loud and the brass gives it real umph!

Really gets me when people say they don’t rate Iggy! To me he is one of the greatest front men ever and one of the true originators of punk and proto-punk. He hasn’t always got the kudos he deserves but songs like Search and Destroy, Lust for Life, I wanna be your dog and best of all the Passenger are better songs than most bands will ever have in their back catalogue!

Iggy tonight was on fire! Long may your lust for life burn forever.
