Couple small glassy wee waves on offer the past couple of days and while crowd numbers have exploded at certain breaks (I’m sure I had nothing to do with that) you could still sneak the odd runner in. Look for a pulse in swell around the weekend and into the start of next week (but I won’t tell anyone that) #surfgisbornenz #wainuibeachgisborne #makororibeachgisborne

The Makorori First Light’s very own Moti Proctor came and blessed the comp and sang a traditional Māori song. He talked about what it means to be a surf rider and the responsibility we all have to each other in surfing, and recognized departed friends of the Makorori First Light. He also introduced us to one of the best spot prizes we’ve seen a Mojo Hand Shapes 9’6 log with a beautiful Hawaiian design glassed into it.
Thanks Moti!

Another epic celebration filled with surfing, incredible food, awesome company, and tons of fun!

A huge thank you to everyone who came, helped out, and made this day so special. Eli had the best time celebrating his 6th birthday with all of you! Here’s to many more amazing memories together!

A special session from a few weeks back filmed by the legend @zane.wingood. Finally got a booty barrel on video 👀
There was a lot going on and he got oodles of clips so we’ve got some featured surfers.
We were blessed with near perfect conditions from sun up to sun down. So awesome to share the lineup with close friends who are cheering each other on!
Been a good break from coaching but can’t wait to get back in the water with the kids once the water warms back up 🌞
Also shoutout to @maz_quinn for always reminding us what good surfing looks like 🫡

A bit more manageable conditions this morning and while the swell disappeared with the southerly change there is still more swell forecast for tonight/tomorrow. #surfgisbornenz #wainuibeachgisborne

After the madness of the Christmas/New Years/R&V crowds it was good to get back to less hectic earthling numbers and some fun surf and weather conditions for the crew. #surfgisbornenz #makororibeachgisborne
