Discover a Coastal Portsea Home by Pandolfini Architects

Composed of three textured brickwork pavilions, Wildcoast House by Pandolfini Architects balances openness with retreat. Guided by its location on the ocean side of the Mornington Peninsula, surrounded by national park, the home's three defining curved walls are carefully set out to screen the house from harsh coastal exposure — framing heathland views and drawing in controlled northern light where the aspect shifts from hinterland to suburban.

See how Pandolfini Architects used curved brickwork to shelter, frame and connect this coastal home to its landscape on estliving.com — link in bio.

Five Courtyards Worth Lingering In

From a sun-drenched Belgian pavilion to a raw clay retreat in Mexico, a Mornington Peninsula farmhouse, a Californian canyon home and a sculptural Melbourne terrace — these five outdoor spaces prove that the courtyard, in all its forms, remains one of architecture's most considered and quietly powerful gestures.

Merrick’s Farmhouse
One of our favourite projects.
Working with the super-talented architect @michael_lumby_architecture, in conjunction with @nielsen.jenkins .
We love the architectural language and how it blends seamlessly with Australian plants.

A Robyn Barlow design in Flinders we’ve had the pleasure to nurture this year since being planted 🥹

The first few photos are its current state, such a beautiful sight with all its blooming wild flowers and soft native grasses.
Last photo is two resident tawny frogmouths.

Close to wrapping up the year we feel so grateful to have these various ‘offices’ each day that brings us joy while caring and tending to your gardens 🙏🏼

The concept of a breezeway applied to a dining room is an effective way to open up living spaces without compromising privacy and intimacy where needed (the family room). This glorified breezeway adds natural ventilation and becomes a flexible space for outdoor dining, creating an ideal setting for farm-to-table experiences where you can top off dishes with fresh herbs from the garden. Outdoor dining at its finest.

The Merricks Farmhouse, designed by Michael Lumby Architecture and Nielsen Jenkins, is a modern adaptation of traditional Australian homesteads.

The building is organised around a central courtyard, with landscaping curated by Franchesca Watson and Robyn Barlow. It acts both as a reference to — and refuge from — its expansive 50 acre surroundings.
