BTS dump from day 1 of principal photography on Scream Queen 🎬 We started our shoot with the climax of the film. Normally I like to shoot chronologically as best as we can, but due to logistics/scheduling, we had to do it this way & I’m actually happy we did. This was @krisssrene big moment in the film which she absolutely crushed. We also had some very awesome sfx by the one and only @dredremua , insane PD by @loreinmedia (who completely transformed my room!), and a big day for @bayleysirishcream who we’ve kept mysterious up until now…. So you’ll have to watch the film to see her & Kristina’s incredible performances for yourself. & it was day 1 with our Sony Burano - which we’re so thankful to have had acccess to. @iamtrull & @rocio.romerofilms nailed that giallo lighting we were going for with the saturated , blue ,night vibe 🎥 Big thanks to the cast and crew. How far would you go for the perfect scream? SCREAM QUEEN is out now! Directed by April Mendoza, this giallo-inspired short follows a filmmaker searching for the perfect scream for her upcoming film—only to get far more than she bargained for. Shot over several days here in Downtown Los Angeles, the film gave us a chance to embrace our love of Italian horror: bold colors, deep shadows, and beauty with something sinister lurking beneath the surface. With the support of the fine folks at Sony DMPC, cinematographer Chris Trull paired the Sony BURANO with vintage Minolta Rokkor lenses to bring that vision to life. Drawing inspiration from Suspiria, Tenebre, and Deep Red, we leaned heavily into saturated lighting and an expressive color palette, letting the atmosphere become part of the storytelling. Hot Halloween hootenanny! The temps were in the 80s at 10pm, but that didn’t stop some incredible filmmakers from sharing their work at the Night of Shorts Night! The place was PACKED! MORNING SHED BTS — DAY 2: PINK INTERIORS 🎀🩸
 One of my favorite things about Day 2 was the feminine energy behind the camera. 💅
 From rigging our Bolex for an overhead specialty shot, to getting creative with blood + bubbles 🫧 , finding ways to bring light ✨ and movement into every corner of this incredible location, and finally, shooting some of our more intimate moments with our incredible talent @bayleycorman — there was so much creativity and collaboration packed into this day.
 One of my favorite scenes to direct was also one of our most intimate, and it was really special to look around the room and see so many women and non-binary creatives helping bring it to life. Huge love to our intimacy coordinator @icy.lotus for helping us create a space where we could explore, communicate, laugh, and get the shot. 🫶
 And of course, none of these images happen without our incredible DP @michaelcochrann and the entire crew who helped us build this surreal, feminine little world together.
