Happy to do my civic duty… but I can’t lie—after sitting in jury duty for a few hours, my mind has been running through every project I need to finish and everything I need to start. 😂

So I figured I’d post something that feels pretty timely.

Here’s my arrangement of “Free” by Deniece Williams, captured while Melvin Johnson & the Electro-Akoustic were setting up for a performance at the Children’s Museum. Sometimes the music says exactly what you’re thinking.

(P.s… Dude behind me in in the chorus of a serious snore fest!!! …😬😳😂)

Enjoy… and if you’re in jury duty too, this one’s for you. 🎹✈️ #TakeFlight

I’ve got to shout out the horn section…

Led by James Murphy on sax/woodwinds, with Jarvis Hooper on trombone and Theo Juarez on trumpet—y’all bring the flavor. The color. The attitude.

Every hit, every line, every swell adds that extra vibe that takes the music where it needs to go.

It’s not just parts… it’s personality. #DaBois
