Auction - Saturday, 31st of October, from 4:00pm, On-Site, at ‘31 McIlwain Drive, Mermaid Waters’.

A Legacy Home On One Queensland’s Most Coveted North Point Positions.

An extraordinary expression of architectural vision and craftsmanship, “Freeform” stands among Queensland’s finest homes.

Occupying a prized north-facing waterfront point position, this remarkable residence by Jayson Pate and W.Build brings together exquisite materials and extraordinary lifestyle spaces across four considered levels.

So pleased to have received a BDAA National Design Excellence Award for my design of White Waves, winning the Residential Alterations / Additions over $1 million category.

This category covers projects across Australia with no upper limit on value, so it means a lot to have my design recognised among such strong entries.

Thank you to my clients Mel & Corey for trusting me with their home, and to Country to Coast Projects and all the trades who brought my design to life.

A special thank you to my son Charlie for being so awesome and attending last night with me, my husband Mike for your support and to my good friends Tegan & Jules for being there to celebrate with me.

Thanks also to everyone in the Illawarra who loves this home on Bulli beach as much as we do, I cannot tell you how much your comments and support have meant to me and my career 🙏 so grateful xx

Soft, cloudy, and made to be touched. 🤍

Natural lime plaster wrapping this curved wall, finished with @rockcote lime plaster. The hand-worked movement in the finish is something paint or flat render can’t replicate.

Why we love it in a build:

✔️ Breathable: lets walls release moisture instead of trapping it
✔️ Naturally mould resistant thanks to its high alkalinity
✔️ Flexible, handles minor movement better than rigid renders
✔️ Reabsorbs CO₂ as it cures
✔️ Ages beautifully, with character that only builds over time

Sculptural rendered walls, integrated seating and natural stone paving, softened by mature palms and the interplay of light and shadow. Understated luxury through considered design.
