POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some special people in this photo. @weridewhy completed a year festival run in the city our movie was filmed. @seattlefilmfestival @cascadebicyclestudio has been a massive part of our journey thus far. Not only were portions of our film shot there, we have been on this journey for a few years. 3 years ago we partnered to form a team to participate in @fredhutch @obliteride this partnership was formed in 2024 which coincided with where we were at in post production and eventual premier in June 2025.

This was never just about just making a movie. Everything we do is deeply connected to others in the community, @metierseattle @greggscycle Greenlake @cascadebicycle @seasecretshows @timberfest @kexp @siffnews @seattlechannel and @fountcycling. We are ALL connected to make a positive difference and bring the love and smiles to our to the people we love and cherish.

In the 3 years after the team was formed, Team CBS / We Ride Why raised $420,000 for cancer research. We made a movie, we raised money for cancer research and WE did it together. Our film is just one piece of a greater mission and that is to create community, raise awareness, raise money and celebrating life because it is so precious.

Thank you @kemptonbaker for your friendship, your heart and partnership in co-captaining our team and leading our rides.

Thank you @ridedirectortracy for your partnership, support and engagement. 🧡🚴‍♀️

Also, in the photo next to Kempton is Joseph McKeen. He is one of the owners of Cascade and is a great friend and supporter of this project since 2019 and the one who approached me about creating our team.

Thank you to the other owners of CBS, @bolger23 and @erikestrom for your generosity and support. We look forward to continuing the ride with you. There is no finish line.

Thank you to those who have donated to Fred Hutch and supported our film. Without YOU there is no WE.

One of the fondest memories I have of my mother is her reading Dr Seuss. My favorite book was “The Little Engine That Could.” “I think I can! I think I can! I think I can! When it came to making WeRideWhy I knew, I could, I knew I could, I knew I could because I had an amazing team who each had a unique set of skills that together composed something that touches people’s hearts. @weridewhy is the little film that could. Thank you for an unforgettable weekend @seattlefilmfestival

Starting my season late and doing Golden State Race as the first in the series, I had decided to try and see if I could podium. After collecting another win in @tourofamericasdairyland I had more motivation. Finishing @chicagogrit with 4 more wins got me within range. @goldrushcritweek gave me my final results with another win to make 7 out of 10. By the time @gatewaycupstl was finished I had completed 10 wins for a perfect score of 300. Keep it Metal!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

This was not achieved alone. @lbumgar1 @double.j.squiggles @berryrohling and @charonlsmith were supporting to their capacity and I couldn’t have been more appreciative!!! From lead outs to time on the front to making the in between breakaways, everything was invaluable to me!

I also want to thank every racer in every race of the series as we all had a lot of fun and kept it relatively safe. Minus my own blooper. Looking forward to racing with each one of you wonderful beasts next year!

Thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who put in the hard work to make these series and events possible!
