True strength is patient. It does not need to prove itself in every battle or answer every insult with a raised sword. Restraint is not weakness—it is power under command. The warrior learns to endure the storm without becoming the storm, because his strength is governed by reason, virtue, and faith.

Faith gives that strength its foundation. When the road grows hard and darkness closes in, faith keeps the heart steady. It teaches us that suffering can forge rather than destroy, and that we do not walk into the fire alone. A father of faith does not promise his family that life will never hurt. He teaches them to meet hardship with courage, patience, and trust in God.

And then there is fury—not blind rage, but a disciplined fire directed toward what is right. The willingness to fight when duty demands it, while having the wisdom to keep the sword sheathed when it does not. Let reason govern passion. Let faith govern fear. Let justice govern anger.

Patient strength. Powerful faith. Tempered fury.

That is the armor of a man who has mastered himself—and therefore cannot be easily broken.

“Strength, nerves and courage” belong to the gentle man, “and not the man who is subject to fits of passion and discontent.” -Marcus Aurelius
