Last year, while I was peacefully going through my NYSC journey, my sister shared some old pictures of my dad from his own NYSC days, and I thought, “Let me see if I can recreate these.” 😂

I couldn’t recreate all of them, but for the ones I did, I had to improvise here and there. Some were intentional, some were stressful 😂, but honestly, I had so much fun bringing these memories back to life.

Big shoutout to everyone who made my NYSC journey worth remembering, and a very special shoutout to my dad. ❤️

Anemia in Pregnancy…a common yet preventable condition that affects nearly 50% of pregnant women in developing countries, including Nigeria.

Anemia in pregnancy contributes to approximately 20% of maternal deaths globally and is associated with a significantly increased risk of perinatal morbidity and mortality, including stillbirth, preterm birth, and low birth weight.

It was a privilege to present this topic before consultants, professors, clinical and non-clinical colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team.

The key message remains clear: prevention is better than treatment.
Early antenatal care, routine screening, iron and folic acid supplementation, proper nutrition, malaria prevention, deworming where indicated, and empowering women through health education and financial support are essential in reducing the burden of anemia in pregnancy.

Every opportunity to learn and teach is another opportunity to improve maternal outcomes and reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute. On to the next.
