The playoff picture continues to take shape across Class 3 as we enter the final stretch of the regular season.

REGION 3C

Broadway remains on top at 7-0 following a hard-fought 34-27 victory over Turner Ashby. Fluvanna County holds the second spot after a convincing win over Monticello, while Liberty Christian rounds out the top three following a 24-3 victory over E.C. Glass.

Turner Ashby and East Rockingham complete the top five, with Alleghany, Heritage (Lynchburg), and Rocktown currently occupying the remaining top-eight positions.

Region 3C continues to be competitive, particularly in the middle of the standings, where just a few power-rating points separate several teams.

REGION 3D

William Byrd and Magna Vista continue to set the pace, with both programs sitting at 6-0.

William Byrd picked up a 21-7 win over Northside, while Magna Vista rolled past Mecklenburg County 58-6. Both teams continue to make strong cases for the region's top seed.

Bassett suffered a 47-0 loss to undefeated George Washington (Danville), while Lord Botetourt improved to 3-3 with a win over Franklin County.

With the postseason approaching, the battle for positioning throughout Region 3D will be worth watching, especially with two unbeaten teams leading the standings.

These rankings are based on the current VHSL power ratings and are not final playoff seeds.

Make it back-to-back wins for Rocktown.

The Raptors put together their best offensive performance of the season in a rout of rival Harrisonburg.

Story from that one coming to DNROnline.

I'm back from a two-day break, and, man, what a week ahead for high school sports. Among the notable games from Friday was Rocktown's big win over East Rockingham. It was not only the Eagles' first setback of the season, but it also put the Raptors solidly back into playoff position. I've got more photos coming later from other games and will get links posted ASAP, but stories are on the DN-R website as we speak. Stay tuned for more.
