A few weeks into her first semester at Rockhurst, we checked in with Parmida. Here's what she told us, in full:

"I've been really enjoying my first few weeks of college! I've been busy with tennis practices, traveling for invitationals, studying for tests, and keeping up with classes. I've also loved spending time with my team, making new friends, and getting into the college routine. It's been such a fun and exciting start, and I'm really starting to feel at home here!"

New team, new city. Proud of her.

Congratulations to Parmida Kalali, headed to Rockhurst University. NCAA Division II, Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Parmida talked to more schools than most players I've worked with. Over 20. That's not indecision, that's diligence. Location, budget, fit, she filtered through more variables than most families ever get to, because she wasn't willing to guess.

That kind of process takes real patience. It's slower, and it's harder to explain to friends who committed in week two. But it's how you end up somewhere that actually fits instead of somewhere that was just first.

She's joining a program that just won its first conference title in school history and made the NCAA Sweet 16. Good timing for a player who did this much homework.

So proud of this one. Go Hawks.
