Summarizing my whole mission experience in only 20 photos and a short paragraph or two really is no small feat! But, I have been deeply humbled and my life has been changed for the better.

I spent my first seven months in San Pedro Sula, Honduras getting to know the people in Santa Cruz & Villanueva - all of whom I really loved and am fortunate to still be in contact with now. A lot of my heart is still in Honduras and I’m excited to go back and visit down the road. These are the most humble and most friendly people I’ve ever met and I feel very blessed to have been able to live in their country and speak their language! We were able to participate in the dedication of the San Pedro Sula Temple and we contributed in our own way to the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ in this corner of the earth.

I served the rest of my mission as a Service Missionary right here in St. George, Utah. This was a unique and unexpected perspective that I am again very blessed to have experienced. My primary assignment was with our Historic Sites - if you’ve ever stopped by the Brigham Young Home, the Tabernacle, or the Jacob Hamblin home and received a tour, that was my job! It was really fun to learn more about our history and testify of Jesus Christ through the mouths of the Dixie Pioneers. But, service missions are so much more than that:

We helped people find jobs, we fed the needy, we taught English, we worked both inside the temple and outside on the grounds, and I got to repair a lot of bicycles as a volunteer with the St. George Bicycle Collective, which was very fitting! Service missions are all about ministering to the individual and replicating the saviors work one soul at a time. I believe they will become more and more common.

My homecoming talk will be this coming Sunday, December 14th at 9:00 am. The address is 259 North Mall Drive, St George, UT 84790. I will be speaking and playing a special rendition of “Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful.” I hope to see you there!
