It was an herbivore birthday picnic 🥒🌿

While designing our dining room and imagining how we wanted it to feel, we leaned heavily into nostalgia, reflecting on the places we ate growing up and how they shaped the way we eat today. To bring this idea to life, we called on Plantea Studio in Madrid, who had previously worked with Juan, to collaborate on their first New York project. The understanding was immediate, and what existed in our heads translated even better into reality.

During the final stages of the project, something still felt missing: a big space between the two speakers. We reached out to our friend Sebastian Rodriguez to see if we could get one of his paintings. When he said yes, we went to stretch it the day before opening and beg to have it ready in a day. It tied the entire room together, and the bar seats in front of it quickly became the best seats in the house.

We were discussing what style we wanted for our pictures and, much like with our branding, we decided to work with friends who don’t usually work in restaurants or hospitality. Through our friend @rodbesa , we got in touch with @marksommerfeld , whose style matched perfectly with what we were looking for.
Thank you, Mark, for the beautiful pictures. It was a pleasure watching you bounce around the room, doing what you do with such joy and professionalism.

We started by talking about our memories, the way we like to eat, and our respective childhoods growing up in Lima and Santiago— all shaped by a shared interest in movies, design, paintings, and of course, New York. An appreciation for hospitality with intention, and for gestures that reflect our Latin culture.
