🏈 TROY FALL PREVIEW: RODGE WALDROP
@rodge.waldrop

Position: Quarterback
Class: 3rd Year
Height/Weight: 6-5 / 216
Hometown: Thomasville, Ga.
High School: Brookwood HS
Previous Schools: East Mississippi CC / Georgia State
Troy adds size, experience and another talented arm to the quarterback room with Rodge Waldrop, who arrives after a productive season at East Mississippi Community College.

Standing 6-foot-5 and 216 pounds, Waldrop brings an imposing frame to the position and enters the 2026 season looking to compete for a role in the Trojans' offense.

⚔️ EAST MISSISSIPPI CC
During the 2025 season, Waldrop appeared in four games and completed 88-of-144 passes for 838 yards, averaging 209.5 passing yards per game.
Most impressively, Waldrop threw three touchdown passes without an interception, showing his ability to protect the football while operating the offense. He also added 28 rushing yards on 13 carries.

Waldrop played under longtime East Mississippi head coach Buddy Stephens, gaining valuable JUCO experience before making the move to Troy.

🏈 GEORGIA STATE

Waldrop began his college career at Georgia State in 2024, where he redshirted and did not see game action.

🔥 2026 OUTLOOK

Waldrop gives Troy another intriguing option at quarterback. His combination of 6-foot-5 size, JUCO starting experience and efficient ball security provides a strong foundation as he transitions to the FBS level.

His 2025 numbers — 838 passing yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions in four games — showed his ability to efficiently move an offense without putting the football in danger.

Rodge Waldrop enters 2026 ready to compete, develop and make his case in Troy’s quarterback room. ⚔️🔥
