Sol is GOING TO STATE!! 💐

Bitners (Davis HS) has been training for this moment long before the season started. Paired with a natural competitive spirit, they knew how to get the job done. Sol wins a NorCal title by almost 4 meters and punches a one-way ticket to the state meet in San Mateo on May 16-17.

Very late post but better late then never anyways, one year ago my goal was to go to state, this year my goal was to make it to state and hopefully get on the podium sadly fell short again on my goals. Last year I didn’t even make it to day two of masters to being in the finals of master placing 2nd.

Went on to state making day 3 of state but losing in the bloods. I’m still so proud of how far I got from last season but job not done and hungry for more. Want to thank my coach’s, my teammates, my mom and everyone that help me get this far thank you for pushing me past my limits and believing in me.

I want to say extra thank you to my seniors and Coaches Sophia Villoria, Casey Fuller, Adam Arvizu, Timmy Ahn, Coach Barnett and the Coach Jensen’s. Thank you guys so much for this season it was a great last run with you guys I will cherish all the moments, support, and speeches from you all going to miss wrestling with you guys next year. Thank you to my coach’s who always believed in me and pushed me to be better every single day. Thank you Coach Barnett for dealing with me for how ever long you have known me. Junior year season 🔜

Shayna Ward’s title match Saturday night at the CIF State Wrestling Championships at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield. Zahra Stewart of Orange Vista High-Perris pinned Ward, a junior for Oakland Tech, in the third round to claim the 125-pound championship. Oakland Tech coaches Ashlee Sherman and Darrel Ward were in Shayna’s corner. Tech has never had a state wrestling champion. Ward is the second Tech wrestler to reach a title match, and first to do it twice.
