It’s impossible to fit 10 unforgettable days into a 30 second video, but I’ve done my best❤️

So grateful for this amazing group of people who came into my life out of nowhere and somehow already feel like family, and for two incredible shows that brought people from two different countries a little closer together

Joy.

For someone who makes a living off their writing, I find myself at a loss for other words to describe my time with this year’s group from @beithalochemcanada. I could touch on the unimaginable pain and heartache each of these incredible humans have been through, or their strength, resilience, and optimism despite it all that was truly humbling to witness, or the anger I feel towards the people in Canada who harbour so much hatred towards humans like them solely because of their faith and country they were born in.

I keep coming back to joy. The joy of meeting people who survived against all odds. The joy of getting to know each of them on a personal level. The joy of laughing, dancing, singing, and even crying with them (because it means they’re alive to share their stories). The joy of being inspired by them. The joy of now getting to call them my friends.

Each group I’ve met so far while volunteering with Beit Halochem has been special. This year was no exception -
@rotemmansano, @yosef_ohana, @daniel_sharabi_22, @mishel.kasimov, @inbaryohananof, @saartwito, @roi_dror, you are all beyond incomparable. My life has changed meeting each of you for the better. Toda raba. And Am Yisrael freakin’ chai. 💙🤍✡️

This past Tuesday, over 500 of our incredible community filled The Chevra for one of the most moving nights we’ve ever shared. We listened to Roi, Michelle, Rotem, and Yosef — four heroes whose lives were changed forever on Oct 7th. Hearing their stories changed ours too. As the ED of Beit Halochem Lisa Levy said so powerfully: “Without them, there is no us.”
Kol Hakavod to everyone who came, who supported, and who stood with them. Toda Raba to Riva Toeman for her incredible leadership at Beit Halochem! #BeitHalochemCanada #CourageInConcert #StrengthOnStage #AmYisraelChai #IsraelVeterans MontrealCommunity KolHakavod AmIsraelChai SupportOurHeroes
