have a soft spot for the wines of Roisin Curley ... the are pure, rather classic ... classy ... and enjoyable. Made carefully with care and talent. Not super expressive ... but discrete and refined ... 2024 is beautiful for the whites ... the reds are a bit more ... backward ... but still have this classic style from before global warming took over.

Built a case full of my absolute favorites from @winescout.se! Focus was on the new kid on the block in Bourgogne that completely blew me away last year; Aymon. So when the chance came to stock up on Nicolas’ -24:s, I went for it. Good times ahead. 🥳 I’ve made no secret of my love for the wines from @roiscurley and the champagnes from @champagnehenrigiraud @domainejulesbrochet and @geoffreydelouvin are all at the top of the game within their respective niche. 💣 Some rest in the cellar for most of these, though. Trying not to pop and pour too much these days, but when you know the sheer quality of these wines, it’s hard to keep your hands off. 😍 #bourgogne #champagne #aymon

Róisín Curley Coteaux Bourguignons Rouge ‘22 2018年8月8日。 プラットは、フレンチレストランartichautの向かい側、道を一本挟んだ先にひっそりと佇む、小さな箱のような空間から静かに産声を上げた。 そもそも山根シェフが、フレンチレストランに加えてワインバーを営もうと決断しなければ、プラットという場所の歴史は始まらなかったのだろう。だが、その物語を語る上で、初代店長・渡嘉敷ゆきえさんの存在を抜きにすることはできない。 どこか懐かしさを感じさせる柔らかな沖縄訛りのイントネーション。人の緊張を一瞬でほどいてしまう、あの屈託のない笑顔。そして、artichautとはまた異なる個性を放っていたワインのセレクト。 彼女が纏う空気そのものに惹かれ、人はプラットへ足を運んでいた――そう言っても決して大袈裟ではないと思う。 扉を開けた瞬間、柔らかな笑顔で迎えてくれる姿。カウンターの内側で、軽やかに、無駄なく仕事をこなす姿。思い返せば、その一つひとつの光景が、今も記憶として鮮やかに残っている。 山根シェフは少し嫉妬してしまうかもしれない。それでも、ゆきえさんがいたあの頃こそ、プラットにとっての“第一章”だったのではないか――今でも、そんなふうに思っている。 つづく。 #エビダンさん

Westport, what a blast! A small town with the heart of a lion and a food and drink community that beats as one. Just 24 hours and we packed so much in, though not nearly enough with plenty of other wonderful restaurants and bars that simply were not logistically possible. You all know how much I love Galway but for a great food and drink experience in the west, Westport packs a punch! 1. Duck Egg Gala Pie @savoir_fare 2. Incredible pork rillettes @savoir_fare 3. The Wine Queen of Mayo @roiscurley @savoir_fare 4. A brand new hotel experience @thegracewestportestate that is truly exciting. An accessible five star with upcoming spa and restaurants due to lay their place amongst the culinary landscape in the town. Check it out and watch this space for more 😜 5. A lovely little bistro @arnosbistrotwestport with modern cooking and welcoming hospitality 6. A fat washed @theirishmanwhiskey Old Fashioned in @infused.bar.westport that’s infused with a smoky applewood finish. 7. Incredible value Champagne by the bottle in @infused.bar.westport @champagnelamiable 8. One of just a wide range of infusions @infused.bar.westport with this one taking advantage of the tiny blood orange season window to enjoy later this summer. 9. Gorgeous sourdough loaves in @cornrue_bakery with one I picked up to enjoy with family later and some hot cross buns (not pictured) that were immense. Not my first time to visit, the cakes, scones, pastries and coffees are fantastic. 10. I know it’s not very sexy but this porridge @thismustbetheplace_westport was sensational. Served with stewed apple, honey, granola and cinnamon was such a delicious and welcome healthier option for those of us that may want to eat eggs and bacon everyday but in good conscience cannot. @markken1707 enjoyed a gorgeous bacon, @madyolkfarm egg, relish and added McCormacks black pudding. Great coffee, friendly service and just doing the right things, right. *Accommodation* For an excellent budget option I booked @themarinerwestport in the heart of Westport on Mill Street. If you can cope with the not great soundproofing, it cost a brilliant €84 and is clean and perfect for spending more money on food and wine 😜

As a wine enthusiast and collector, there’s nothing better than unboxing your latest finds. Through the years, I’ve built a pretty decent cellar with Bourgogne and Champagne, mostly thanks to @winescout.se! Long may the allocations continue to come my way. 😁 It’s maybe not a traditional cellar in the sense that it’s full of your Rousseaus, DRCs, Roumiers, etc, but up and coming producers and hidden gems that takes a bit of work and scouting to find. A lot of bang for the buck and amazing wines! 🤩 This delivery was something extra, with the -24:s from @paindav_wine as the main event, topped with one of my absolute favorite Meursault producers in form of @domaine.tessier, the fantastic powerhouse reds from @domaine_heresztynmazzini, the delicious 1er Cru from @domaine_frey and last but not least, the genius that is @roiscurley and her reds. 🍷 Hands down some of the best producers I have come across in Bourgogne!
