CALL FOR WEIRD! WHAT IS WEIRDO? A glorious celebration of all that is art and weird! Think of it like a big, one day art party that spans as much of East Kensington as we get around to organizing. WE ARE LOOKING FOR ART/WEIRD/PERFROMANCE/CONCEPTS and maybe some vendors! That includes performers of all types: dance, shows, music, circus etc. We have performance areas available across the fest and some money to work with. Application form in our bio! In the past we’ve hosted Roller Circus aerial shows, neo-vaudeville sword juggling, puppet parades, dance with giant swings and fake blood, people in glow in the dark costumes, film fests, drum lines, machines from the future, human size yams and AWFUL Wrestling just to list a few things. Don’t need a stage or have something that doesn’t directly translate into a time slot? We’re also looking for people to take up “vendor” spots. Here’s the rules: You do not necessarily have to be selling something. You must have some element of crowd participation in what you’re doing. Ideally you’ll be at the fest all day or at least until AWFUL Wrestling starts at 8pm. (The fest starts at 2pm) -If you’re primarily selling something the cost is $55 (cheap!) -If you’re not selling anything the cost is $0 -If you’re selling something as an afterthought (like a small amount of merch) and feel like making a donation to WEIRDO… that would be great. You get up to a 10’x10’ pop-up tent friendly size space to do with what you will. There are 10 or so spots in the “WEIRDO Market” zone at Philadelphia Brewing Co. Those are the spots right in the thick of it. The rest of the show is performance and clever chaos. This is a highly pretentious, proper, scrapy, art puke sh*t show, and that’s how we’re doing it. GENERAL INFO FOR STUFF: There is a link to an application form in our bio! That is how you apply! If you’re making noise or doing something that would compromise other performances let us know! Welcome! It’s Queerdo time again! Would you like a vendor spot at Kensington Queer Circus Fest on Saturday, June 27th at the lovely @philadelphiabrewing ? VENDORS! This is always a hard thing for me. Some stuff is going to sell, some stuff isn’t, or at least not as well. Some people do stuff like this all the time, some don’t. SO this is what we’re doing: 10 vendor spots are $105 each. these are for the pros. You know who you are. We hope you clean up. We’re keeping the market small to maximize your success! But, you know, we have to charge enough so it’s worth doing. 5 artist/weird stuff spots are $55 each, These are for your art. Like you made it with your hands or feet or something and you just want it out in the world. I really want you to come out. 5 spots are for info tents for organizations doing cool stuff that relates to the theme. These are free. BYO everything you need, 10x10 spots, tents are cool, there is no access to electricity. It will be hot. I apologize for charging for stuff at all, we run off 90% grant funding and $1000 is another 1 to maybe even 3 events we get to put on for free for the neighborhood. All this filthy moolah is going to East Kensington Arts Committee to have more shows. Also, if we give out an extra tent or two in the above categories, please don’t yell at me :). What do you think? Email creepymozzarella (at) weirdo.pizza (that’s an email) with some contact info, a link to your stuff and which kind of spot you’re trying to get. I’m going to try and get this all sorted out pretty quickly since it’s relatively soon. If these $$ are too prohibitive, let me know what you think. I’ll see what I can do.
