I was feeling a little dusty after yesterday's magnificent victory and an early morning airport run to pick up the Bali boss lady (bloody hell it was cold this morning at dawn!). Lunch was then a wonderful catch-up with old band mate @rols_plus4 at @zetland_hotel. We havent seen each other in about 30 years or so. So we walk into the pub & who is there but another old mate, the dynamic MV @marcelo.a.veloz Note: From memory, i think i recall the Magnificent Muddle was the publican here at one stage (check)? I also remember one of our first live gig s was at this pub around 40 years ago, it was a Hells Angels (or one of the bikie gangs ) event. There was this one huge bloke "Tiny" they called him, the size of a house, who loved zz tops "la grange " and was very clear & persuasive in his request to hear the song - on-loop. A great afternoon, a few drinks, great food & a thinking persons chat - between all that - 30 years of loves, losses, lessons & life - how quick it goes! This is the stuff Ai cant replace.

Oktoberfest detour. Autobahn at a standstill → Roland’s uncle/cousin drops us a few km out of Garmisch → we walk → find a freezing river → had to jump in. No phones back then. A 3-month Euro trip fully funded by a performance bonus (ComputerLand / IBM Product Manager days). Thanks Rol for digging this one up. Can’t remember the exact year — early 90s. Yep… much skinnier and a lot more hair. Before everything was structured, optimised, and modelled… decisions looked like this. No plan. No framework. Just movement. Trying to keep the thinking… and still move like this when it matters.

Flashback - 14th October 1990,@rols_plus4 & caught up Zurich, caught the train down to Barcelona (a wild night in the Ramblas), then from memory down to Madrid where we got a car & headed down to the Sagres in Portugal. Here we met Gisele & Jo (Siri) - two French Candadian fellow travellers, got on the drink & the next day I needed to get into the ocean to clear my head. The water was freezing. We'd then up through Lisbon & a surf beach a couple of hours north to catch up with an old mate living there. (Thanks Jo & Gisele for the pic).
