4000 miles, 3 weeks, 81 mosquito bites and counting

I’m thankful for my resilient Edna (she’s the prius), grateful for my dear friends and family (without whom this would have been truly implausible), and hopeful for the beginning of my time in the city of self-determination.

i’m not usually one for the sentimental, but cut me some slack:

in my senior year of highschool, I decided on a whim that I wanted to be someone who makes people laugh and laughs with them. my barometer for when I’d truly committed to that ambition has always been the day I moved to new york.

three and a half years later, I’m in brooklyn, a couple hours from starting a barbacking job at a comedy club, and I can confidently say that whim I had was the best gamble I ever made. my life is full of the love of intelligent, open, beautiful people, and it is a privilege to have the chance to show them all that I was, am, and can be.

I love all of you guys. Thank you for being here.
