Always catching a cloud by @romain.pln 🎞: Portra 800 (to bnw) 📷: Nikon F2 Hi, I’m Romain, a French climate scientist currently living in Switzerland but who started film photography in French Polynesia. Photography has always been in my life. A breakdown in Tahiti made me go further into photography. I have always wanted to photograph scenes that nobody is paying attention to, especially in French Polynesia where the cliché of sexy women dancing on white sand beaches near the blue where surfers show off persists. So I have been wandering around photographing things that we see everyday and that we don’t really pay attention anymore. I love being off track and discovering a place from inside out. Film was the natural next step in my photography. I love to take the time to see and choose what I want to photograph: pushing the meditative experience, being far away from all these screens, and going back to the basics. Shooting in French Polynesia, far from a lab and supplies, I discovered the world of developing films with warm tap water, hence pushing every roll. For me film is a game. You never know if what you shoot is going to become a photo. What an excitement! The featured photo is from my first roll ever, taken in Bora Bora that often rhymes with luxurious tourism. I wanted to show another view from this island, far from the hotels. The recent pandemic made me keep this roll for 1.5 year before developing it and ended up washed-out, thus I simply converted to bnw and pushed the blacks. #filmcommunity #analogmag #strictlyfilmonly #believeinfilm #analogueffect #filmallover #analogfilm #thefilmstead #thefilmrenaissance #thefilmlandscape #afilmstore #kodak #moderndayanalogue #analogmotel #seasonedfilm  #filmlifemagazine #filmisnotdead #buyfilmnotpixels #boxspeedfeature #onfilm #filmwave #nikonF2 #madewithkodak #magazine35mm #portra800 #y35mag #35mmgasoline #35mmfilm
