Before we teach, we learn. 💛

At last week’s Artistic Staff Retreat, NDI Teaching Artist Romanti-ezer Mata led our team in exploring Afro-Cuban rhythms through movement, including rhythms with deep roots in West African and Sub-Saharan musical traditions.

It was a chance to move, listen, learn, and connect more deeply with the history behind the music.

Thank you, Romanti, for sharing your knowledge with our community. We can’t wait to bring some of these rhythms into NDI classrooms this year! 🎶💛
