We were voted Best Asian Restaurant for The Port Arthur News Best of the Best 2026!‼️ In all honesty, this win wasn’t about the win for us. It’s clarity that we are still doing our best! Early summer this year we lost 3 staff members at the same time, had to let go of another member not too shortly after, another staff member started having high risk health issues, and a member quit on no notice given.. In a spand of 3 months we were pushing all kinds of hours starting from 4am shifts to late shifts to different job titles - server, cashier, or cook. Hiring new staff that are experiencing this environment as their first ever job or just no experience in the restaurant world. Outside of work we still are full time parents with activities, sports, or just simply family time. Our one year old wasn’t sleeping through the night yet, which at that point we’re also just not sleeping. Time flew and school started. Our daughter entered a new school with a higher cirriculum - which means longer drives, more homework and dedicated education time at home. All while being supportive in her choice to join competition dance. So scheduling for work and home life has been a big transition on ourselves. A local owned mom and pop business is simply that - we don’t have a big brand name with dozens of employees. We are making it day by day, and we can’t call in or shut down while everything around us is feeling like chaos. We really never talk about what goes on behind doors. Winning this award meant so much more this time as we persevered through the hard times and you all still supported. We can’t thank you all enough or have enough words to explain how grateful we are to everyone - our families, our team, our loyal customers, and God🙏 This award is an accomplishment with everyone’s efforts involved and it is truly an amazing feeling to win it 4 years in a row🙏♥️ Here’s your sign to Keep Going ✨ - Mama Kim

Thank you Nederland, Texas Economic Development Corporation for recognizing Mama Kim’s for being in business for more than 5 years now. It’s been such an honor serving the community🙏. We couldn’t have made it this far without the continued support of our customers, our wonderful team for showing up daily, & our partnership with one another to see out our goals👫! Cheers everyone to this accomplishment🥂✨
