After captivating audiences in New Orleans and the United Nations Headquarters 🇺🇳 in the heart of New York City, our "Haïti-Louisiana: Tides of Freedom" exhibition made its grand Brooklyn debut at Five Myles Gallery on June 9th, co-presented by @haiticulturalx

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable evening including @gardygirault and @carelpedre ! The exhibition, featuring the works of @patriciabrintle, @v_youseline, @goodlinabadlina, @panik_pas, @woolleynickart, @harryabilhommeart, @peternakhid and a selection of vodou "drapo" (flags) from the Dr. Jacques Bartoli collection, will be open to the public throughout June.

Après la Nouvelle-Orléans, le siège des Nations-Unies 🇺🇳 au Coeur de New York en mai, le vernissage de notre exposition: "Haiti-Louisiane: Les Marées de la liberté", s'est tenu le 9 juin 2023, à la gallerie Five Myles, à Brooklyn, co-présentée par Haiti Cultural Exchange.

Merci à tous ceux qui ont fait le déplacement pour ce moment d'exception incluant Gardy Girault et Carel Pèdre. L'exposition qui présente les œuvres de plusieurs artistes ainsi qu'une sélection de "drapo" (drapeaux) de la collection du Dr. Jacques Bartoli sera ouverte au public durant tout le mois de juin.

OPENING RECEPTIONS OF THE TIDES OF FREEDOM EXHIBITION AT THE UN

The opening receptions for the traveling exhibition "Haiti-Louisiana: Tides of Freedom" at the United Nations Headquarters in New York were a resounding success.

Our deepest gratitude to Their Excellencies Antonio Rodrigue, Ifigenia Kontoleontos, and Linda Thomas-Greenfield (@usun), Ambassadors of Haiti, the International Organization of the Francophonie, and the United States, respectively, for their endorsement and unwavering support in making this historic premiere possible – showcasing an artistic dialogue between Haiti and the United States in this prestigious venue. We also extend a special thank you to @rotane_khaled, whose efforts ensured the smooth progress and collaboration between all parties. Thank you to the artists and our partner @romulusandson

Following its initial presentation in New Orleans with the @nousfoundation and the @bkhousenola, we are immensely honored to bring these eternal figures of Haiti and Louisiana to new shores, carrying their message of freedom, fraternity, and resilience.

From riveting conversations to great display of artistry and culture— today’s event echoed our mantra—“The POWER of community!” and what better place to experience this than New York?
