The Grand Tour was an educational journey for young European aristocrats from the 17th to the 19th centuries. Traveling through cultural centers such as Florence, Rome, Venice, and Naples, they experienced art, architecture, history, and culture firsthand. Beyond education, the Grand Tour became an important means of cultural exchange, allowing people and ideas to move across borders.

Today, international students share similarities with these Grand Tourers. Through globalization, people from diverse backgrounds come together in places like Polimoda in Florence, encountering new cultures, perspectives, and ways of life.

For everyone who made this journey possible.

Princess Dress Draping Final Project,
-
All Hand distressed by needle,
Two distressed skirts layered with a over lapping front and a convertible collar
-
Inspired by Renaissance garments I seen in Venice Italy. My first thought was the connection to water in this city. The main way of transportation we’re ferry’s and gondolas. I imagined what kind of piracy took place in Venice back in the day which inspired me to this design this dress for my final project
