.
One year ago today, I stepped onto the van and made my way to MCRD San Diego. Late at night, I put my feet down on the infamous “Yellow Footprints” and spent 3 months becoming a Marine. I climbed the Reaper and earned my title on the morning of December 7th,2017 and saw my family for the first time as a Marine on the 14th. I was luckily placed into the unit that I’m in now, and I’ve met countless people along the way. I’ve met people I would die for, and more importantly, live for. I wouldn’t have been able to get this far alone. I had my family backing me every step and stumble of the way and now I have leadership that cares about my personal development as a Marine and as an individual. I couldn’t be happier. There’s days I joke about how I should’ve gone to college or gotten a civilian job, but in all reality, the Marine Corps was the best decision I have ever made. So here’s to 1 year! 3 more to go (at least 😜)
