'Theater is one of the places where we come together to make sense of the world,' said Judson Jones, Theatre East Artistic Director. 'We sit in the same room, share a story, laugh, grieve, and recognize something of ourselves in one another. At a time when so much feels fractured, that act of coming together feels like a small but essential way of rebuilding.' All five short plays performed back-to-back, every night, making for a unique New York theatrical experience at Court Square Theater. And it's suggested donation only so it's accessible to everyone! 6:00pm: 7th Street Burger, 91 E 7th St. I feel like I don't need to say much about this place - they serve a few exceptional things, namely the titular burger, and it's perfect for a pre-show meal. What else do you need to know? 7:00pm: If the World Really Ends on Friday, Under St Marks Theater, 94 St Marks Pl. Following its development through the writer's cohort at Fresh Binder Productions and a reading at Paradise Factory produced by @revenuenyc in 2024, If the World Really Ends on Friday is receiving its first production at Under St. Marks Theatre. The show follows four middle schoolers during the week leading up to the maybe-apocalypse as they navigate orchestra concerts and school play auditions, first queer crushes, what will happen if the world really ends, and even scarier, what will happen if it doesn't. 8:30pm: Romeo's, 118 St Marks Pl. Head to 90s-themed Romeo's after the show for holiday-themed cocktails! (If the World Really Ends on Friday opens tomorrow, 12/11, and runs through 12/14 - grab your tickets early to make sure you have a chance to catch this show!)
