In just two weeks, Dolomite Flow 2026 kicks off! 🤩 Ronja Eick will be leading two sessions titled “Water and Skin,” and we couldn’t be more excited!
In this workshop, we will explore movement qualities in
contact improvisation and engage with skin receptors
that perceive vibration, pressure, light touch, and
stretching. The connecting element will be the theme of
water: flowing, sloshing, boiling, spiraling around one
another, gently enveloping, and meeting resistance. We
will move individually, as well as in duet and trio
constellations.

Il filo conduttore sarà l’acqua: fluire, ondeggiare, ribollire, ruotare l’uno intorno all’altro, avvolgersi delicatamente e incontrare resistenza.
Ci muoveremo individualmente, in duetti e in trio.

Freiburg, my Critical CI utopia.

My heart is full of gratitude and joy.

The art of encounter,
Friends, skinship, coming together through the practice we love.

Meeting, dreaming dance, eating dance, preparing for dance. Cooperating, supporting each other.

Dance as family and choice, fully embracing my body and soul.

Here it is, this calm sensation—here it is.

Tears falling from my eyes as I witness so much beauty in the space.

The art of encounter.

Labbing, jamming, discussing, table talks, 5X5, one to one, small dances & politics. Meeting points, Contact Quaterly, resistance & support.

Thank you Dani, Ecki, and Barbara for making this possible @contactfestivalfreiburg

Dancing in the images with @francescafrewer 💜, The great @alessandri_simo_ & my love @nica_andrea_portavia.

May we introduce: The Next Steps projects of funding round 2 💛

Today:

Blätter
Ronja Eick, Pihla Jaala, Fanni Schack.

Above, below, gentle and chaotic: With “Blätter”, dancers and dance educators Ronja Eick, Pihla Jaala and Fanni Schack are creating a mobile dance performance for children aged three to six. 🍂

Together with kindergartens around Frankfurt am Main, they explore the poetic world of autumn leaves and their movement elements: falling, rolling, catching, and transforming. After the performance directly on site, all children are invited to join in, becoming active themselves and discovering movement through play.

👉 An overview of all funded projects can be found on the Next Steps website (link in bio).

Next Steps is a program by Bureau Ritter supporting dance professionals in Hesse. Funded by @crespofoundation.

Dance Nexus residencies offer studio space and financial support to active members for artistic research and creation processes.

Hanging in the Skin is a residency project by Ronja Eick, Charlotte Hartz, and Jana Burianová. The research explores the skin as a sensory and political organ, as an emotional carrier, and as choreographic material. Starting from an investigation of the skin’s receptors, the work expanded into poetic, emotional, and feminist dimensions.

Rooted in improvisation, the practice invites dancers to remain attuned to their senses while moving. It creates a space for sensory listening, trust, and responsive action—training the body to make intuitive decisions, respond to touch, and refine reflexes. Movement is allowed to be wild and rough, while also soft, attentive, and caring.

The research was shared both as a workshop within DNA Workshop and as a work-in-progress showing at DNA Stage in Wiesbaden.

We thank Dance Nexus e.V. for providing the opportunity for this residency and for supporting our artistic research.
