🌿✨ What a week at @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show ✨🌿

From our billboards outside the iconic show grounds to serving up our nootropic drinks inside, it’s been such a special few days celebrating all things mushrooms, nature and connection 🍄

We’ve loved meeting so many familiar faces and new ones too and of course, a huge congratulations to the incredible @caleybrothers on their well-deserved GOLD medal for their immersive Beyond the Button exhibit 🏅✨

A special thank you too to our friends at @freddiesflowers for the beautiful blooms featured in our opening and closing scenes and @lucyforlikeever for the closing and opening 📹🌸

Chelsea, you’ve been unforgettable. Until next time… 🌿🍄✨

Family.

A concept that has been broken & rebuilt in front of my eyes a million times. Between my personal story & of others, the reality of family, what it means, the connection, the challenges - I got lost in trying to understand WHY we keep (or need to keep) our blood family ties. There are so many shadows around this question. So much conditioning of what we ‘should’ do/be/feel.

Last month, my dad & bro came from London to visit me in my tropical island bubble.

Before they arrived, I wondered how much of me I would be able to be? Would I hide parts of me like when I was a teen? Would I pretend to like/not like certain things? Will our personalities clash? Will I enjoy who they are today? Will they like me? Will we argue?

WHAT I FOUND was new fragrances of the meaning of blood family. I found it had a different scent to my chosen soul family - all of whom I handpick through life values we share. But blood family, had a different quality...

I realized - it had a scent that I actually really missed. A familiar recognition of childhood, of belonging.

I felt it when I allowed myself to lay my head on my dad’s lap & he held me as we watched his favorite Tom & Jerry episodes. Tears streamed out of my eyes uncontrollably. Damn, I really missed being held by a blood relative, by a parent. Melting into being a daughter, someones child - I don’t have this opportunity enough💔

I felt it when my brother & I sarcastically pocked one another with love, laughter and sometimes frustration. I don’t get to experience that much either. It’s a sibling thing. I missed that. I missed him. I felt heartbreak that we live so far apart.

I felt it daily in the subtleties of our interaction. Such different personalities, compromising as we created a joyful family holiday, with wisdom & compassion. A dance of acceptance & surrender at its essence. This moved me to my core. Something I have been so thirsty for. Acceptance😭😭

It’s been over 10 years that we have been all together - my dad, my bro and my baby girl.
Three generations.
Four very different humans.
Reunited
As family.
All the way in my little piece of paradise.
So very special.

I love
❤️
