Round 9 - Results

UCC were left to rue a number of missed chances which allowed the Bingley openers off the hook to post an opening stand of 133 in 25 overs. It’s been a familiar story and one of frustration for the bowlers who are carving out opportunities at key points in the games. Despite this UCC did manage to claw their way back into the game and restrict Bingley to 266/8. Stand in skipper Sunny Matharu finished with 5/57 (11).

In reply UCC lost both openers to the Bingley overseas opening bowler as they fell to 21/2. The side never recovered as wickets continued to fall as the team slipped to 112/8. Only Mo Sully at no.8 offered any real resistance with 54 not out, while Amir Shahzad added 33 with a number of lusty blows. The team were eventually bowled out for 172.

The young 2nd XI side made a decent fist of it against 2nd placed Hunslet. Hunslet posted 234/7 in 45 overs, 2 wickets a piece for Uzair Khan, James Smith & Phil Drake.

In reply the loss of 5 early wickets left UCC at 50/5 in the 14th over. However u15s player Navjot Singh (58) made his 2nd half century of the season to stem the flow of wickets. He was well supported by Sabit Khan (49) as the team were eventually dismissed for 187 in the 41st over.

Priestley Cup - Round 1 Result

The 1st XI head into round 2 after coming through a potential banana skin tie at home to Crossflatts. Crossflatts elected to bat first and posted a very useful score of 268ao. Sunnny Matharu picking up 4 and 2 a piece for Abs Dawood & Mo Suleman.

In reply UCCs batting held up after recent collapses. Danish Hussain hit 48 to get the side off to a good start, before Kyle Welsh 108 and debutant overseas Suraj Singh 63 put on 169 for the 3rd wicket. Both fell just just short of the target score.

The 1st XI have retained their position in the Bradford Premier League for 2025. The team had been sat comfortable in mid-table the majority of the season, however they were hit by a number of player availability issues which pulled us closer to the danger zone as the season entered the final rounds.

Everyone involved has done a great job and we delighted that our 1st XI will compete in the Premier division in our what will be the clubs 150th Anniversary year (1875-2025).

Round 13 - Team News!

1st XI (Home) to Woodlands

The team host reigning champions Woodlands and will be without keeper/batter Kyle Welsh. In a freak accident Kyle slipped and sustained a broken tibia in Wednesdays evening League fixture. It’s been a promising season to date for Kyle, so it’s extremely disappointing for both him & the team that he will take no further part as he begins his rehabilitation. As a result Bailey will take over the gloves and Dan Dickens comes into the side.

2nd XI (Away) at Baildon

The 2nd XI have a very important fixture away at Baildon. It’s a huge game at the bottom end of the table, UCC could give themselves some extra breathing space with a win, alternatively they could be sucked into the battle for survival. Allrounder Amaan Ali comes back into the side.
