Still glowing from the fact that I was among one of the panelist on ‘Narrating Bestselling Audiobooks’ at @newyorkcomiccon ! I’ve said it a million times, but sharing the stage with @andreonthemic @hlaserwolf and @seanpatrickhopkins was an absolute honor and an experience I’ll cherish forever (yay new friends!)✨ It was a joy soaking up their wisdom and having the opportunity to share my audiobook narration journey to a packed room!

Thank you to @macmillan.audio for inviting me to speak, and to all my incredible friends that supported me near and far, ran around Comic Con with me and made it their mission to sit front row and take the BEST photos! I cannot wait to be back!

For now, please enjoy our animated faces and tell us what we were all so surprised by?! 😂🎧📚🎙️

It was a beautiful, emotional, sprawling, Can-Am summer of love, family, friends, nostalgia, history, community, legacy, growth, reckoning, and moving forward even when it’s hard (not my specialty!). I realized that I can’t narrow an entire summer down to a carousel, for my own mental health (summer of mental health, snatched from the jaws of Bunk1 addiction!) but please enjoy this cross-section of people and places and moments that brought me much joy this summer. It was a good one!! ❤️

I’ve been postponing my two years in NYC celebration post because honestly it’s been hard to put into words just how much my life has changed. Two years ago, I moved to NYC at age 20 with no friends, no family, no job, and recovering from a septum surgery that had knocked out 2/3 of my vocal range, as well as a knee injury that made it so I couldn’t bend my knee past 90 degrees. I walked around the Theater District with 25 copies of my work resume in hand, and eventually ended up getting a job as a server at an Italian restaurant on 9th avenue. I would wake up almost every day at 4:30 am, take the train down to Pearl or Ripley audition studios, and wait all day. Between August-November, I attended 52 open calls, and was only seen at 11. Eventually, I made the decision to join Actors Equity, I finally regained my voice and my confidence, and my knee injury healed. I made my debut as part of Broadway Backwards, benefitting Broadway Cares, after meeting the director at my restaurant. I kept working, kept auditioning, and produced my first show at 54 Below last May. Since then, I joined Broadway Backwards again this year, was part of the cast of an incredible new musical @queenofmean.musical , which I also had the joy of becoming an associate producer for when they later did another 54 Below concert. I also produced my first ever solo show, alongside @clairellelogram and Kurt Peterson, sharing my experience as a childhood cancer survivor and raising nearly $2500 for @starlightchildrensfoundation . I got my first longer contract singing with @glammoproduction , and have had the honor of performing alongside incredible and inspirational artists like @arielgoes2eleven @roberttaylorjr @cheryl.tv and SO many more. The past two years have been a WHIRLWIND. I called my mom so many times in tears, and every time she’d tell me to pick myself up and keep pushing. I am so grateful for all of the challenges and joys NY has brought me, and for the beautiful people I’ve met along the way. Looking forward to continuing this journey.

What a delight to join @deeeliacai for her Deez Drinks Media Happy Hour! Delia and @rach__yang put together a phenomenal event at @publicrecordsnyc with such a welcoming, purposeful vibe. (Yay for media parties, the building block of my career plus where @glynnismacnicol & I ate most of our meals in 2008). I loved seeing people I knew, bylines I click, and new favorite writers whose work I am excited to discover. Thank you to @ruthannharnisch for underwriting such a great event and connecting me to Delia to participate with @hismartfriend to support. I love writers and editors and people who love words that come from human brains! So grateful to be part of connecting, amplifying & elevating amazing people, which is basically the mission of Smart Friends. (Out of beta soon!) Thank you also to @teenvogue Creative Editorial Director @mianne.chan for co-hosting (& offering Deez Links 20% off Teen Vogue Fest next weekend! Ping me for the code). New collabs/chicanery/gossip now incoming - the hallmark of a successful evening!! Well done Delia, Rachel & team!

p.s. Bonus was metal karaoke after at @lucky13saloon (amazing) - the host is in @masqueradenyc! I love this city.

Who doesn’t want a better “Second Act?” Bob Neaderland, president of the real estate firm Pease & Elliman, offers to show Leona the ropes and help her get her real estate license…. IF she’ll agree to his rather unsavory terms. Featuring Danny Rutigliano and @njjisrelentless

Did you know that the “Queen of Mean” Leona Helmsley brought in Frank Sinatra to sing at the opening night of her Palace Hotel in NYC? We may not have had Sinatra himself, but we got to hear an excellent tribute through Frankie Sands at our @54below concert last month!

✨ Artist Residency Fellowship — Lake Clark, Alaska ✨

What an honor to have been selected as one of two Alaskan artists to receive this fellowship and spend two weeks immersed in the wild beauty of Chulitna Lodge 🏔️🌿

This experience reminded me why I make art.

To step away from the noise of modern life and return to the rhythms of nature, weather, light, animals, and the lake itself was a profound gift. Lake Clark invites you to slow down, listen, and remember what truly matters.

Chulitna Lodge is much more than a residency space — it is a place of genuine care, hospitality, and community. Thank you to Chef T for the incredible homemade meals, and to Ellie, Taylor, Lee, and Elle for making every day feel warm, welcoming, and deeply cared for 💛

A special thank you to Steve for creating and stewarding this extraordinary place, and for giving artists the opportunity to immerse themselves fully in their practice. Spaces like this are rare and deeply needed.

Surrounded by wilderness, books, and limited internet access, I found the perfect conditions to disconnect from distraction and reconnect with creativity, study, and artistic research.

I leave inspired, restored, and even more committed to this path of art, curiosity, and wonder.

Thank you, Chulitna Lodge. You have left an imprint on my heart 💚🌲 🐻 🏔️ 🫎
