There’s always something new to learn behind the camera. 📸✨

Had such a lovely evening at the Photography Masterclass with @rooful and @emerald.network .

Rooful was incredibly helpful throughout the session, sharing his experience and knowledge, answering all of our questions, and giving us so many useful insights into photography from the technical side to composition and approaching a shot more creatively.

But one of my favourite parts of the evening was also meeting other creatives, connecting with new people, exchanging ideas and learning from each other. There’s something so refreshing about being in a room full of people who share the same passion. 💛✨

And of course, we got to put everything into practice afterwards these are some of the results from our shoot! 📸

A day of learning, experimenting and creating. 📸

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend Mr @rooful with @emerald.network photography masterclass, where we focused on the technical and creative sides of photography.

The practical session gave us the chance to take everything we had learned and put it into practice — and these are my top 3 shots from the day.

Always grateful for opportunities to learn, improve and see photography from a different perspective.

I don’t normally do Art Fairs. I find they can get quite exhausting and as an introvert, with hearing loss, it can get overwhelming and overstimulating very quickly for me.

This one by @takhleeqleicester was lovely. I met loads of people from my community, got to share a bunch about my work, had some lovely comments and a fair amount of sales to help my creative practice continue.

I noticed that lots of people liked the English in my greeting cards,

I brought out some Huroof Series originals from 2020

These mini prints were so popular. As they are double sided, and feature the inspiration behind each painting, they resonated well with new collectors.

I will be adding them to the website at some point as I feel they make a lovely gallery wall display together.

I also have a fair amount of tote bag painting kits which I need to add to the website at some point.

All in all I’d say it was a success.

Would I do it again? Yes with @takhleeqleicester as my genre of Islamic Art is well positioned

We asked Cohort 3 how day one of the Social Venture Academy (SVA) went 🌱

This year’s venture leaders work across an incredibly diverse range of areas. Criminal justice. Advocacy. Leadership development. Poverty relief. Food insecurity. Community infrastructure. And more.

Behind each organisation is someone who saw a problem, decided it matters, and took responsibility for doing something about it.

These people are doers.

Over the next six months we will be working closely with these 12 leaders to strengthen their knowledge, develop their ventures and prepare them for what comes next.

Follow us on @fundersingood and keep an eye on this space. Over the next six months we will be sharing this cohort’s journey as they build something that lasts 👀🌱
