Looking forward to my time on the Happy to Help live radio show and podcast tomorrow. Our chat will broadcast live out of the Hunterdon Chamber of Commerce via Facebook 10-11am. Host Nicole Smith and I first met at my Barnes and Noble book signing, where she was representing the amazing nonprofit @roomtoreadnj. Both moms, bibliophiles, and female empowerment educators, we hit it off immediately. I am sure it will be a fun, informative interview. Hope you tune in! {#breathemamabreathe #breatheempowerachieve #mindfulness #empoweringwomen #empoweredmama #psychotherapist }

I am passionate about women connecting their businesses to a give back project. So for 2020, I have chosen @roomtoread. I have made a donation in honor of the wonderful women I work with, who are committed to growing their businesses. I love helping women meet their goals so that they have more money to donate to causes like this, @roomtoreadnj. Please consider making a $30 donation at the link in bio to keep a girl in secondary school for a full year. I thank you in advance for including this donation on your holiday list. 📸| @roomtoread •

It is Giving Tuesday!

I am so fortunate to live the life that I do, that I have been afforded the opportunities that have come my way, and that I can be who I am.

I know that not everyone has had the same chances that I have. Which is why today is so important.

I volunteer with a WONDERFUL organization called @roomtoread.
I have spoken about them before here is some background:

Room to Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
They build schools, train teachers, donate books, translate books and help millions of children.

The @roomtoreadnj chapter is hoping to raise enough money to support 100 girls in secondary school for a year.

We have published a cookbook, Recipes Worth Reading, that are for sale to help us towards our goal.

They are $25 and 100% of proceeds go towards Room to Read.
If you are interested in a copy please let me know!

I am also collecting gently used children’s books for a book sale I am looking to run in 2020. If you are interested in donating some books, let me know and I can tell you where to send them.

Or if you just want to donate, please click the link in my bio!

Even if it is not to Room to Read, I encourage everyone to donate (if you can). Today reminds us just how lucky we are.

Thank you Nicole Smith @roomtoreadnj for organizing such an incredible event! The New Jersey Chapter of Room to Read hosted a breakfast with guest speaker, @fran_hauser (author of The Myth of a Nice Girl), to celebrate International Day of the Girl. Truly an inspiring morning listening to Fran and reconnecting with Lynne Pagano, co-founder of @thecoconj and Amy Radin, author of The Change Maker’s Playbook. I also sampled (well not really sampled but devoured is more like it) chocolates from @jts_confections as they send college care packages!
