Taste Buds take on Conway! This weekend, we made our way around Conway and put some local recommendations to the test, and we were extremely impressed! The food and atmosphere at Roost and Tap Kitchen was amazing, and the whole staff was friendly and welcoming, and make sure to get the apple butter biscuits! We loved the modern but still cozy feel at Demure Coffee, as well as the comfortable and well-designed atmosphere at Espresso at Evergreen. Finally, we had to stop for cookies at Kassi’s Cookies. The sprinkle crinkle was one of the best cookies we have ever eaten! From savory bites to coffee stops and sweet treats, Conway has plenty to explore, and we have already planned where we want to go next time! We are excited to go back soon!

Let me tell you about this guy right here.

In 2021, when we started the very first @conwayartwalk season, I knew we’d have to bribe people to participate. 😅

They always say if you build it they will come but I’m here to tell you that’s not how it starts out. First you have to offer them free wine and snacks and door prizes.🍷 That’s how we got our first attendees there.

But the artists were the high priority for me. I wanted them to have an amazing experience, sell a bunch of work, meet kind encouraging people, leave happy, and tell all their artist friends.

So I went down to Brick and Forge and asked to speak to the manager.

Here comes a busy man with a friendly smile that says “I’m happy to help you, but let’s make it quick” 😂 I introduced myself and pitched the idea- “I need help feeding the artists so they don’t starve at their booths from 5-8pm!”

THIS man, @mistafrosty2022, not only said yes, no questions asked…He personally hand delivered a stack of free pizzas for our Art Walk artists and volunteers every month, for the entire first Art Walk season.

He didn’t ask for a sponsorship or want to be featured on social media. He just wanted to contribute to a movement that he believed in.

There are seed funders and then there are seed believers. The ones who see the bigger picture early on and make you feel less crazy for spending all your nights and weekends on an idea that won’t make you a dime.

Charles is a believer. In people. In ideas. In community.

No one more deserving of recognition. Congrats my friend!!

Apparently I have a type… local places I love enough to go back to. 😂🫶🏻

These are a few that have officially made my “yep, I’m going back” list.

Because supporting local isn't always about finding somewhere new. Sometimes it's finding the places that make you want to come back again and again. ❤️

Central Arkansas, you keep giving me reasons to eat.

How does that saying go? You work hard to play HARDER! One thing I have no shame in doing is allocating time to enjoy this life I’m blessed to live. My first time trying @roosttapkitchen in Conway did not DISAPPOINT! From the aesthetic, customer service and food it was absolutely amazing! Enjoy the feels…until the next adventure shared in this space! 🫶🏽🤍🍽️

How often do you carve out time for enjoyment in your life? Let’s chat in the comments!

Thinking about your dinner plans? How about a Central Arkansas Restaurant Weeks restaurant??! Each spot has a special menu or promotional item. Order the item, and you will be supporting local AND fighting hunger, as a portion of the proceeds from each sale will go to the Arkansas Foodbank!

Eating out for a good cause? No dishes? Feeding our neighbors? A win/win!
