Getting a little heavy this Friday in honor of my dad’s birthday today. 🎂 Sharing this today because it has hands down been one of my favorite quotes about grief + loss for a while now. It perfectly sums up what I found hard to put into words myself. So, maybe if you can relate, you too will find this impactful. Because a heart can do two things. It can be happy and sad all at once. It can hold grief & joy. So, even while celebrating weddings & births & any milestone along the way, it’s okay to feel sad too. Sad for the lack of their presence in that moment. And that double emotion is one that brings a little comfort too. Comfort that their memories are still ever present in a new way. Cheers to you, Dad. 🍺
