Just a very quick shoutout to my lovely *online* friend Faith Canter from @rootsranchportugal, with whom I connected in one of the Facebook groups already over 8 years ago.
We've started chatting just before my big move to Portugal as we were both on a similar journey - leaving the UK for healing & new beginnings.
Whilst my life has been a major struggle and just hard survival mode since I've set foot in that country (and didn't/couldn't/wouldn't want to see all the signs that it simply was the wrong place for me) - Faith had the opposite experience and an incredible journey of growth and recovery.

I remember her being completely plant based and the ultimate fermenting queen all those years ago.
Over time, that has changed massively (like for many of us), and Faith has included animal based products and especially meat, organs & proper fat again and experienced massive amounts of healing.
She is now wholeheartedly a homesteader, back in the cycle of life, and has many animals that have an amazing life with her until the very end.
She writes books, has started selling freeze-dried organs, and shares her ferments.

I've finally added *Fermental* to my book collection and have been including her freeze-dried kidney powder in my nourishing breakfasts and drinks.

Hi, I’m Faith Canter, I thought it was about time to pin a new introduction to my pages here on Instagram

Among other things I’m…

I’m a microbe farmer, farming microbes in foods, soil and us! I live off grid and I am attempting to be a regenerative as possible here in rural central Portugal.

In 2017 I sold pretty much everything I owed in Scotland and packed up what was remaining as well as my dog, into a campervan and planned to ‘set sail’ to Asia. I got as far as Portugal and have never regreted it!

I was the healthiest plant-based person I know (all superfoods & supplements and no junk food) for over 30 years, including being a plant-based health coach and author.

Then a few years ago by health fell apart and I had to make some serious changes to address some serious health conditions. Which involved moving from plant-based to animal-based and eating and living. Living in a much more ancestral way like this has dramatically changed every area of my life for the better!

I am now fully recovered from several apparently incurable illnesses, including heart and auto-immune issues and I retrained from plant-based nutrition to animal-based nutrition instead.

Dear Algorithm, please stop being an ass!

Please stop playing stupid games

Wanting us to jump through stupid hoops!

Just to get people who have already chosen to follow our account to actually see the posts on it!

Please stop trying to get us to post at certain times of certain days instead of when we feel inspired and happy to post and trying to make us all inauthentic creators of the same old sh@t

‘Rewarding’ fake, unimportant nonsense

‘Punishing’ anyone that wants to be genuine, rustic, think outside the box, share important world topics and what they want when they want and simply just be themselves

Reinforcing self-loathing, hating, please pleasing, perfectionism and overachieving!

You, dear Algorithm are all that is wrong with the world right now!

Let’s all just be ourselves and not base our self-worth or what people think of our ‘work’ on who or what the algorithm, (not the followers) let’s see it!

Screw the algorithm, you are doing an amazing job just showing up and being you every day.

We've got it all wrong!

This is what ‘success’ looks like

Home cooked meals, big piles of dishes, tummy’s full of nutrient dense foods

Quality time spent over nourishing meals

Early mornings and early nights, moving with the seasons and cycles

It’s not Instagram-worthy, it’s not a movie set, it’s not even pretty to the untrained eye

BUT it’s all that really matters

Almost everything we think is important and that will fulfil us never does

We’ve got it all wrong! Why?

Because caring for our loved ones and self is all that really matters!

The dishes are a sign of success, the food to cook, the clothes to wash, the house to clean are all signs of the greatest success of all.
