Meet the Mom & Dad behind The Side Dishers 🍽️ Hi, we’re The Side Dishers. If you’re new here, welcome. If you’ve been here a while, thank you for staying. We’re a Connecticut-based couple who documents food, dates, family, activities, and the stories behind the places we visit. You might even learn something. Together we are unstoppable and occasionally covered in something. Here’s what we’re about: We cover all of Connecticut. Food, towns, day trips, play places, date nights, bookstores, farms, breweries, and everything in between. New Haven County is home but we go everywhere. We don’t post anything we don’t mean. If we share it, we love it. We don’t write negative reviews. We just don’t talk about what we can’t stand behind. We believe in the people behind the places. Immigrant-owned, woman-owned, BIPOC businesses, LGBTQ+ spaces, eco-friendly spots, special needs, accessible places, etc. A platform is only as good as what it lifts up. We have a toddler and a brand new baby (who you’ll see in the most chaotic and beautiful ways without ever seeing their faces). They are our harshest critics and our favorite adventure companions. We have three dog, Rory, Remy, and Gracie that are the best snuggle bugs and clean up crew around. We also have something big coming that CT has never seen before. Stay tuned. 👀 8,000 of you chose to be here and we don’t take that lightly. Drop a comment and tell us how you found us! We genuinely want to know. 👇🖤 #mothersday #ctblog #momblog #ctmom #ctfoodie

Happy Easter Weekend 🥚 Enjoying time with our family and reflecting on the Easter story. A good reminder that the people with power often aren’t those with the right intentions. Sharing with our kids a story of loving your neighbor, foreign and domestic, and spreading love as much as we can. Wishing you a weekend of love and light 🩷 #Easter #ct

Emmy’s bucketlist day 🍦 Earlier this week we knew Emmy wasn’t doing well. We wanted to give her a special day while she was having some rally energy. We went to a couple places (will post later), but we ended with a big cup of @elenasonorange ice cream 🍦 She ate too much, but was far too happy for us to stop her. Today we said goodbye and were with her every step as she crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 🐾 ❤️ Thank you @final_journey_llc for making a really hard experience as calm and loving as it could be ❤️ “As I get out of the work truck I hear my brother yelling out the window, “Moms got a surprise for you!” Eagerly, I walked through the door to see what it was. Before my mom could tell me her name was Emmy and was afraid of men, I scooped her up and held her in my arms. She wasn’t afraid of me. She instantly gave me kisses, and at that moment I knew I had a best friend. Emmy is the one that got me through the passing of my mom in 2015 always making me feel loved. Today, while in my arms and Emily feeding her a Reese’s chocolate bar, she fell into a deep sleep then gently crossed the rainbow bridge to be with my mom. We are totally heartbroken from the loss of my OG baby, but are comforted that we made the right decision to ensure she did not suffer. After being sick for the last two years, I’m thankful she was able to celebrate another birthday in December and get to meet our daughter.” 🩷 Freddie #RoryandRemington #dogmom #dachshunds #minaturedachshund #minilonghaireddachshund #doxielove #sausagedogcentral #dachshundlove #minidachsund #dachshundsofinstagram #doxie #corgi #corgisofinstagram #pembrokewelshcorgi #corgilife #corgilove #corgibutt #dogs #dogsofinstagram #dogstagram #corgi_mob #instadog #dogsofinstaworld #mydogiscutest #roryggrams #remybgrams #adoptdontshop #rainbowbridge🌈 #dogloss

If we could relive this year or skip ahead a year… We would relive 2024. It had plenty of ups and downs as we work through other challenges we’ve been given. But we were given our greatest joy. Our little girl is the beacon of sunshine we didn’t know we could have. Being new parents brought many learning curves, but it gave us time together too. It’s true when they say every stage is the best stage. We can’t wait to see everything this wonderful little being will become while savoring every moment we can while she is so little. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. We love our little community. Sending all of you peace and love for 2025 🩷 Love, The Side Dishers #TheSideDishers #newbaby #newparents #ctmom #ctdad #ctkids #2024 #newyearseve #newyear #newyears #newyearsresolution #newyearnewyou #2025 #baby #dachshundsofinstagram #corgi #chiuahuasofinstagram #rescuedog #family #ctcontentcreators #ctfoodie #ctfoodblogger #ctblogger
