Oh hello! Welcome back to Matty's Movie Mart! You're in the mood for some sci-fi tonight? Well, you're in luck because I have a movie lined up that'll take you out of this world and onto 1000 more.

This is a criminally underrated and underappreciated movie whose box office flop is really unjustified. I'm recommending Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, based on the French comics series Valerian and Laureline. This one stars Clive Owen, Rihanna, Rutger Hauer, Ethan Hawke, and the incredibly beautiful pair of Dean DeHaan and Cara Delevingne. In the 28th century, Valerian and Laureline, two special operatives, race against time to save the universe from a growing threat. With exciting visuals and a dense plot, this one benefits from multiple viewings (plus, did I mention the two leads 😉😏)

If you look closely, you'll see one of @davidellis01 recommendations!

Back again so soon? Groovy!

In need of something darker tonight? I've got just the film. 2000's The Cell, starring Jennifer Lopez, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Vince Vaughn, is a twisted sci-fi, crime thriller that moves into some truly horrific depths. If you're looking for an underrated performance from Jennifer Lopez and an exceptional performance from D'Onofrio, this is my recommendation for your horror film tonight.

For the final day of @video_store_clerk Double Feature Week, we're sharing our picks about 'The Loner'

Up first, Robin Williams inhabits loneliness in his stellar performance in One Hour Photo. Williams' Sy shows the dark path a lonely mind can take. At the time this was a huge departure for Robin Williams and his performance alone is worth the watch.

Next, in American Beauty, one of my favourite movies of all time, we see that being part of a couple or family isn't necessarily an escape from loneliness. A cast of characters where everyone is incredibly lonely because they're not seen, can't truly reveal themselves or have no idea who they really are.

Day 6 for @video_store_clerk Double Feature Week #vscdfw

Going a bit on the nose perhaps for today's double feature themed around Games. First up, the 1985 classic 'Clue' starring Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Madeline Kahn, and Michael McKean. If you've never this one, you're really missing out. Fun fact - theatres at the time were given one of three cuts of the film and you may not have seen the ending that others saw in a different theatre. All endings are available on discs. Next up after that is 2018's Game Night starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams. I really enjoy this movie- it's fun, with a bit of action and Jason Bateman is in top form in his delivery throughout.

Sorry for being MIA most of the weekend. Had a drama filled one, along with getting sick and lacking sleep. Needed a pick me up, so here's just an appreciation post of these 2 being their adorable selves. #jaredleto #shannonleto #echelon #echelonfamily #echelonforever #thirtysecondstomars
