Medicine Festival

I’m still integrating my experience, but one thing I know for sure is that I found parts of it really overwhelming. The crowds, the noise, the dust and the heat… it was a lot for my nervous system!

I was there as a Kitchen Witch, cooking for Ros Simons and Redkite Flutes, which was such a special part of the experience.

But amongst all the busyness, there was medicine.

Time spent with good friends, seeing people I hadn’t seen for a long time, meeting new people, sharing stories, laughter and little moments of connection.

And perhaps the biggest lesson I’m taking home is this…

The medicine I need isn’t always something I have to go looking for. It’s already within me.

Still sitting with it all, still integrating, and feeling grateful for the experience.

There is something incredibly brave about letting your experience be seen.

Thank you to every woman who has trusted me—not just to photograph her, but to witness her.

This is another one of those stories.

Grief has a way of convincing us that we’re meant to hold it alone—that asking for help is too much, that no one could possibly understand the weight of it.

But something remarkable happens when one woman tells the truth, and another simply stays.

The load doesn’t disappear. It becomes shared.

Thank you, @brittbratattack, for sharing your heart, your ache, and your iridescent light with us in Scotland.

✨ Scotland Retreat • Day Six ✨

One last morning. One last circle. One last castle. One last dinner where none of us were quite ready to say the word goodbye.

And then, somehow, bags were packed. The bus arrived. The rain started.

We came to Scotland for the retreat.

We left with stories, inside jokes, a group chat that will probably outlive us all, and the very strange feeling that six days had somehow become a whole little lifetime.

Wherever shall we go next?

I’ve known Emily since middle school.

We’ve grown up through so many different versions of life together, and there was a time when none of us knew what our futures would look like. Which makes witnessing her standing in Scottish sea—with a sword in her hand, reading poetry she wrote herself—something I don’t quite have language for.

This experience was made possible by the incredible work of @17_strong, a nonprofit that gives young adult cancer survivors the opportunity to take a Victory Trip after treatment. Emily chose to spend hers with us in Scotland, and our retreat was better because she was there.

To everyone at 17 Strong: thank you. Thank you for believing that surviving deserves to be followed by living. Thank you for creating experiences that remind people they are more than what happened to them.

And Emily. Words cannot express how grateful I am that you’re still here. Nor what a privilege it has been to witness the woman you’ve become.

Oh my goodness, it’s been a alchemy of water and fire these past two days 💧☀️

Thank you to everyONE who has come to say hello, or receive the high vibrations from the water treasures.

Naturally, Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 proved the most popular on Friday and today it has been the Isis Temple vibration.

Am looking forward to introducing ‘ Sedna’s Whale Song’’. This is for all Aquamarine Hearts 🩵 . 1:45 pm in Workshop 1 tomorrow, come and experience this Ocean Mother who has so much to share with us 🌊🐋🎶💫

Such the finest calibre of spiritual friends here, such Beautiful Souls 💗 this heart is wide open

I am blown away with gratitude especially with @bardsofavalon who have so generously brought me some very special new water droplets from some ancient places 💧🙏🌍

Final day tomorrow @thehealingweekendfestivals

✨Scotland Retreat • Day Five✨

At some point, we stopped checking the schedule.

There was tea on the porch. Walking the labyrinth. Dancing in between photos. Literary heroines, witches of the wood, selkies in the sea, and enough laughter to make us forget there was ever a version of us that hadn’t known each other.

✨Scotland Retreat • Day Four✨

There are places that have a way of slowing you down.

Places where you instinctively lower your voice. Where you find yourself looking a little closer, listening a little longer, and remembering you’re only one small part of a much older story.

We climbed ancient trails. Walked among standing stones. Crawled into an ancient burial cairn. Laughed until our stomachs hurt. And ended the night by the fire with another story.

✨ Scotland Retreat • Day Three ✨

This was the day we stopped trying to fit into one version of ourselves.

There were swords and tea parties. War paint and selkies. Laughter that echoed through the house. Tears that honored the people we still carry with us.

And somewhere in between, twelve women made room for every messy and beautiful part of themselves.

✨ Scotland Retreat • Day Two ✨

This was the day the house began to feel like home.

The day strangers started becoming sisters. The day shoulders softened, stories found room to breathe, and women remembered there was nothing to prove.

It’s amazing what can happen in a space where you’re allowed to simply be.

✨ Scotland Retreat • Day One ✨

Before the breakthroughs.
Before the tears.
Before strangers became sisters.

Just an old house by the sea and twelve women brave enough to say yes to something they couldn’t fully explain.

Looking back now, it’s almost impossible to believe everything that grew from this very first day.

If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step into a Persephone retreat, this is where the story begins.

Not because someone has all the answers—but because life gets lighter when there are women who witness your becoming, celebrate your wins, hold you through the hard parts, and still send you unhinged memes the next morning.

Find your people. Then be someone’s people. 🤍
