🐚 I caught up with @rosarywalsh a hardcore County Cork charger to see what she's been up to the last couple of years and share with you her story into surfing.

Rosary was one of the few women surfing reefs here in Ireland and it was always great to have another Mna in the water back then!

'I started surfing in Cork about 20 years ago. I went for one lesson with Colm at @inchydoney_surf_school and it changed everything!

Rosary is currently living in Indonesia and was lucky enough to be living there throughout the lockdowns.

'Being able to surf some of the best waves in the world without having to battle with a hungry crowd led to the best waves, and best sessions I've ever had.'

All my best friends I've met through surfing. Amazing, like minded folk that are like a second family. It's also taken me to some incredible places that I never would have visited if it wasn't for the surf.'

Favorite waves; Ireland, Indonesia & South Africa

You surf pretty hollow waves, how was the transition into barrel riding?

'I'm still learning but the place where I first learnt to get barreled was pretty shallow with a super sharp reef. I was way out of my league but saw the guys getting ridiculous barrels and I just really, really wanted to be able to get them too... so much so that I was ok with getting smashed and hitting the reef... a LOT! So I would say that my want for getting barreled was a lot greater than my fear of the reef.

Surfing has brought Rosary travel and friendships.

The inability to stop blowing all my money on chasing waves!
