Since 1979, Ego’s Has Been More Than a Bar — It’s Been a Family

As we head into our 46th incredible year, we want to take a moment to honor what really makes Ego’s so special — the people.

To our amazing staff, past and present: since 1979, you’ve been the soul of this place. You’ve poured your hearts into every shift, every song request, every late night. You’ve created a space where people feel seen, heard, and at home. Thank you for your passion, your hustle, and your love for Ego’s.

And to our loyal customers, karaoke stars, regulars, newcomers, and weekend legends — you’ve turned this little bar into a living, breathing community. Your laughter, your stories, your voices have echoed through these walls for decades, creating memories we’ll never forget.

The friendships formed here — between coworkers, regulars, strangers-turned-family — are the kind that last a lifetime. That’s the real magic of Ego’s.

So here’s to every shift worked, every song sung, every drink shared — and to everyone who’s helped keep the spirit of Ego’s alive since 1979.

Thank you for 46 years of heart. Let’s keep the music playing.

Oh look, another ⭐️ one-star review ⭐️ from someone who “did nothing wrong” and “the staff was SO rude.”

Right, because it had nothing to do with you falling off the stage mid-Nickelback, getting turned down by that girl who was just here for girls’ night, or yelling at the staff because your vodka soda wasn’t strong enough to erase your poor life choices.

But yeah, totally our fault. 😘

“Life is just a bowl of cherries. Don’t take it serious; it’s mysterious. Life is just a bowl of cherries, so live and laugh and laugh at love, love a laugh, laugh and love.”

🎤🍻 Welcome to Ego’s, where the drinks are cold, the crowd is hot, and the karaoke is louder than your group chat at 2am.

We’re open 3pm to 2am daily, but Tuesdays? That’s TueSlay—with all-day happy hour and a mic that’s ready for your boldest bangers. 🎉🍹

Our staff? Total legends—part bartender, part hype squad, and 100% unfazed by your 6-minute power ballad.
Our customers? Icons. Champions. Human jukeboxes. And the reason we never turn the volume down.

Whether you're celebrating, commiserating, or just vibing, Ego’s is your karaoke home base. Come thirsty, leave hoarse.

🎶 Ego’s – Austin’s #1 spot for drinks, laughs, and questionable song choices.
✨ Especially on TueSlay—because you deserve it.

🌈 Huge thank you to everyone who came out to Ego’s Pride Prom last night! 💃🕺

Y’all showed up fabulous, sang your hearts out, and turned the whole place into a glitter-filled, love-soaked, karaoke dream. We felt the joy, the community, and the downright iconic fashion choices—yes, we saw those looks and we are still recovering. 😮‍💨✨

Thanks for making it a night to remember and for celebrating Pride with us the way only Ego’s can: loudly, proudly, and with a mic in hand.

💖🏳️‍🌈 Drop your favorite moment or song from the night in the comments—we want to relive it all over again!

Our manager is what happens when Barbie discovers body slams—decked out in pink from head to toe, bubblegum hair, glitter for days, tattoos that tell stories, and a deep love for professional wrestling. 💖💪💀

She might look like she’s here to sell lip gloss, but the second she grabs the mic and launches into Dragula by Rob Zombie, it’s full-blown metal mayhem. Think WWE meets Hot Topic with a splash of Lisa Frank.

She’ll hit you with a high note and a figure-four leg lock if you disrespect karaoke night. Come see the chaos, stay for the sparkle. Only at Ego’s. 💅🎤
