‼️NEW SINGLE OUT NOW‼️ Hello everyone! It’s finally here! New single, “The Climb” from the upcoming record, “Halcyon Days”. LISTEN NOW! Link in bio: It has been AGES since the Index last played a show, let alone RELEASED anything new, but I’m excited to say, that’s all about to change, starting…NOW:

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to FINALLY be able to announce this first single, AND be able to tell you that there is indeed a follow up on the way. It took us a while to get everything together and have it where we wanted it, but we are aiming to get this one out by February of next year!

This song is called “The Climb”, and it’s been a personal favorite of mine, as well as @rose.flag , and our friends and family ever since I mapped out the structure from an old jam tape with @oddreverberations and @band_o_clones from 2023. It was a cool riff, that seemed to come out of nowhere, but I couldn’t begin to imagine it turning into what it has now! There is a LOT coming down the pipeline including a Kickstarter that will be up soon to hopefully help get this record out to you all sooner rather than…well, much later or even never! For now, I want to deeply thank everyone who helped turn this song from a nice hypnotic little riff, into the full on “epic” that it became...(continued in next slides) To @wednesdayknudsen and @yotajelota for without whom, this simply wouldn’t even exist. We were in complete awe, and felt like we were working with John Cale levels of royalty when we got to be in the studio together. I was in tears of disbelief hearing the ideas put to tape. From space flute, to Marion Brown levels of ethereal saxophone parts, to perfectly played droning wine glasses and more. Jen’s beautiful soaring strings and droning viola parts took songs like this and “Ascension” (my favorite song from the record) to places I’d only dreamed of being able to get to. When we mixed their parts together, our jaws were on the floor in disbelief hearing the final result. We were stunned in awe, and still are. We love you both so much!! 🖤 To @rose.flag , for being the Lee to my Thurston, and making her guitars sound consistently mind-boggling, beauti

Hey all! Been a minute…but there’s a LOT of exciting stuff to announce! First thing’s first! After a long process, we have FINALLY finished our 2nd record!! The crew of @a_langellotti , @jmpizzoferrato , and @jathompso are all BACK for this round, and it’s the proudest @rose.flag and I have ever been of any record we’ve done. The first single, “The Climb”, will be out soon, with a video to follow down the line. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it! We’re also looking for folks who play drums/bass who might be interested in touring. We’re really proud of this one and REALLY wanna bring it out there to folks! Get in touch if yr looking to tour! Secondly, VERY excited to announce that @chris.st.george and I will be vending/representing @feedingtuberecords_rozztoxart for all 3 days at the @greenriverfest ! We’ll be bringing TONS of records, CDs, tapes, 7”s, even some books and more! We’ve spared no expense to put together some of the best records we’ve got. Stuff you won’t see anywhere else! Come see us! Next up, I’ve been having a blast playing with the @sunburnedhandoftheman fam. Our next gig and last one for a while until the fall, is an absolute scorcher not to be missed! We’ll be joining @vorhexangel tomorrow for the release party of their fantastic new record, “Drain”. They’re my favorite band out there right now, and it’s not to be missed! While we’re on the subject, I also have the great honor of playing bass for Vorhex Angel on their upcoming tour! I can’t wait to play these songs and hope to see some familiar faces out there! And last but not least, I’ve started a podcast I’m really stoked about called “Why This Record?” Each guest picks a record that totally changed their life and we spin off on that. 5 episodes in the can so far, more to come soon. Looking for more guests. Great excuse for a fun hang! I’d love to talk to you! More to come soon, that’s what I got for now. It’s gonna be one hell of a summer!

Hey all…said I wasn’t gonna do this unless or until absolutely necessary, but it’s proving pretty necessary right about now, so here it is (link in bio and in story): We are excited to announce our sophomore LP is in the works and coming along quickly! It’s sounding great so far and we are beyond excited for you all to hear it (hopefully sooner rather than later!) As a lot of folks already know, it’s not always the easiest thing funding all the expenses out of pocket, as fun as the final product is. I promised I wouldn’t reach out and do something like this unless and until it proved absolutely necessary, but between rent, touring, and other expenses, it’s just not in the cards to fund this second one out of pocket like I did for the debut. So here’s the deal. We’re trying to pull together some money towards this next one so that we can get it done by the end of summer/early fall! I tried to figure out what the best ideas to make this happen might be, and what might sweeten the deal. So whether it’s $1 or $1000 dollars, it’s all help going towards making this happen and keeping Dead Bell Records as a REAL label and getting this record in your hands and ears sooner rather than 2 years from now. All of our love. Check out the options in the link and we can figure out where to send this stuff! Lots of this stuff will NOT be included on the bandcamp, and is gonna be pretty EXCLUSIVE to this campaign. Hopefully something might peak your interest! Signed sincerely yours, Ian St. George

Tour dump pt. 1. Nearly at a loss of words right now, but more will come later. Right now I just feel incredibly grateful! Grateful for my incredible brothers and sisters @yung.birkenstock, @nathanielkissel, @luke_warm_303, @rose.flag and the fact that we get to do this altogether!! Incredibly bonding experience all around and the shows just kept getting better and better every night! Thank you to everyone who booked us, played with us, came out to see us, and gave us a place to stay. Everyone who bought merch and raved to their friends about us and our music, and to all our friends and family old and new! I hadn’t been on tour fronting a band since summer of 2019 on what would be the final Phenomena 256 tour. It was also the 2nd to last tour that my old E-350 Ford Econoline would go on, the final one being the @sunburnedhandoftheman spring tour of 2023 (which seemed only too fitting that an econo jamming band would be the last ones to grip the wheel of the silver machine!) This one we did in a RAV4 courtesy of @ilenekaye a tighter fit with a roof rack that Luke quickly became the Tetris master of, and yet, we still managed to pack everything pretty comfortably! Did I mention we were touring thru a nor’easter for nearly the entire run? Well, we were, and I think it brought us closer together given the close cabin circumstances as well, so all in all, a dang fine run!! Incredible to feel the love from so many folks at all these shows, and I’m as nervous as I am excited to head back into the studio on June 4th/5th with @a_langellotti to cut our sophomore record!! It’s shaping up to be a VERY busy summer, but I couldn’t be happier about it! Things are shaping up nicely and I’m incredibly optimistic about the future! Can’t wait to see you all out there!! Still got two more chances!! May 30th - DBR Record Fair & BBQ, Florence, MA (ask for address) May 31st - @westkillsupply Kingston, NY (full band, 2.5 hour set!!!)
