Some more snaps from AVON FEST 2026 - a rich day of community, talks, workshops, sharing meals and song and ideas, on the banks of the River we came together to celebrate.

We Are Avon's Hamish Evans and Christine Ratliffe introduced the new Bioregional Food and Land Hub, and how you can get involved and become a co-owner through our upcoming Community Shares offer; we heard from Ash Smith (@windrushwasp ) and Laura Bannatyne (@earthwatcheurope) about water quality testing and the importance of citizen science; we had updates from different River Guardian groups along the length of the Avon and Elena Blanco (UWE) gave an update on the Avon Bioregional Charter; and Maddy Longhurst chaired breakout groups where we came together to discuss the different facets of the movement in detail.

Alice Maddicott ran a beautiful workshop on tender mapping, and together we also did water meditation with Anna Murray, group singing with Elpha, a Sacred Waters river blessing and more.

Thank you to all our speakers, participants and visitors for taking part and creating such fertile ground for discussion and visioning ❤️

THE RED DRESS EXHIBITION IS NOW OPEN IN BATH! 💫

After travelling across the world these last few months, The Red Dress has arrived at Roseberry Road Studios in Bath 🇬🇧 , and we’re delighted to welcome visitors!

Alongside the dress, you can explore photographs and film from her extraordinary journey, as well as a special preview of The Red Dress Embroidery Archive, which I’m developing in collaboration with a wonderful team at Bath Spa University.

Our ticketed event this evening is now SOLD OUT — thank you so much for the incredible interest ❤️

But the exhibition itself is FREE to visit, and everyone is very welcome to come along and spend time discovering the extraordinary embroideries, people and stories held within the dress.

The Red Dress exhibition opens this evening at @roseberryroadstudios
Tonight’s private view and Q&A is sold out, but the exhibition runs until 30th October, so there’s still plenty of time to visit.

The show celebrates the partnership between artist Kirstie Macleod and the Centre for Creative Technology & Bath School of Design at Bath Spa University. On display are the stunning Red Dress itself, the Digital Red Dress, and the first prototype of a new embroidery archive website, marking the next phase of the project as we explore digital archiving and archiving through simulation.

This autumn, our Avon community gathered at @roseberryroadstudios by the waters of the River to celebrate our bioregion of land, water and people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our third AVON FEST - it was a joy to share the fruits of our harvest from a year of huge community effort. We were so excited to announce the opportunity to support a new Food & Land Hub - We Are Avon's new hub and home . See link in bio for how you can become a community shareholder and stakeholder for this exciting new venture.

Thank you to all who contributed time, energy and creativity to make this the most wonderful day possible. This movement is as strong as the sum of our parts.

We were treated to fantastic talks from experts and changemakers, updates from community members across the bioregion, a warming shared meal from Bath Community Kitchen and a wonderful evening of entertainment from talented performers in our thriving networkm

We now enter this wintry period with hearts full, minds inspired and future envisioned 💛

Last Saturday, me and @this_is_title had a lot of fun playing DungeonSynth for ‘Who Programmed This? Dark Mode On!’ as part of @processingorg Community Day.

Title composed audio live while I made visuals in @unrealengine , driven by OSC signals through Ableton and MIDI controllers. The set ranged from calm, ambient retro RPG worldbuilding to skeletons dancing to pounding drums. It was incredibly rewarding creatively, though next time I’ll skip building a cardboard medieval helmet two hours before the gig! I’m still trying to get the PVA glue out of my hair.

Huge thanks to @polymathic_uk for producing the event, and @crispysmokedweb and @centrecreativetech for a brilliant daytime event at Locksbrook Campus, and supporting the evening afterparty too!
