One of the truest ways to know a house, Dylan Thomas told us, is to be alone in it at night, when it stops being a museum and becomes a home again.
That idea stayed with me throughout our conversation with him and Clive Aslet about Old Westbury Gardens: Days of Grace on Long Island. Westbury House was finished in 1906, yet it was designed to feel as if it had always been there. That’s the quiet genius of classical architecture: it borrows from the past to give a place permanence, warmth, and grace.
Some places hold their history so gently that you feel it the moment you walk in. It was a joy to celebrate with friends, colleagues, supporters, my TKD team and everyone who loves its story.

On a gloomy Friday like today, we wish we could be curled up in this cozy home theater!

Walls wrapped in velvet, custom sofas upholstered in a rich red velvet, and beautiful drapery framing the screen give the room a warm, intimate feel with a little nod to old-fashioned movie theaters. It’s the kind of room that makes staying in for a movie with the whole family feel like a special occasion.

See more of our Amagansett project in the October issue of Hamptons Cottages & Gardens (HC&G).

A sweet thank-you to our incredible construction team, talented craftsmen, local artisans, those who have traveled from afar, and my wonderful TKD team for their dedication to our project.

And who doesn’t love a little Mr. Softee at the job site? Seeing these tough, hardworking men and women enjoying ice cream cones with pink and blue sprinkles brings the biggest smiles.

The joy of life’s simplest pleasures. 🍦🍦🍦

So grateful for you all! ❤️ Tham and the TKD team

One more week left to visit Kips Bay Showhouse 2026! So proud of the work my hubby @thetylerbanken did in the back garden. Such a brilliant design incorporating the history of the house and its location. All of the designers in this year’s house should be proud of themselves!

Highlight on one of my peeps who help us shine in what we try to do: create gorgeous, comfortable homes tailored specifically to the desires of each client. Robin Feuer of Rosehyl Studios based out of New Jersey but works all over the States. She and her team do spectacular work and it’s an ongoing joy to work with them. We are only as good as the people we work with. Just the way it is. @rosehyllstudio #thanks for letting me push the limits.

When I opened @ad_italia this morning to see my Greene Street project featured, I found it sitting beside an article on Marella Agnelli, someone whose extraordinary eye and interiors I have admired for as long as I can remember.

Marella’s collaborations with Renzo Mongiardino have long been a source of inspiration. A quote by Mongiardino even opens my own website, and books on Marella have followed me into the spaces I design (slide 3 from my West Broadway project).

So seeing these two stories appear beside one another this morning felt like a rather special full circle moment.

Grazie di cuore @ad_italia and Sonia S. Braga for telling the story of this project so beautifully, and for capturing both the spirit of the loft and my very personal connection to this building. Full story at the link in bio.

Revisiting the Primary Bedroom of my Greene Street Loft project through the words of @rebecavaisman for @admexico.

“Giving character to the home meant that each space responded to a shared atmosphere, while changes in volume, rhythm and specific details gave each one its own personality and function.

The Primary Bedroom, for example, was conceived differently from the other rooms. There, the focus was on creating an enveloping and very intimate atmosphere through layers of a warm “greige.” The key to elevating the space and preventing it from feeling flat was texture: silk velvet on the bed, embroidered wool curtains and bouclé upholstered chairs. The elegance of the room is sustained by a single tonal palette, with subtle shifts in texture and sensation.”

Words by @rebecavaisman, translated from the original Spanish.

Thank you @admexico and @rebecavaisman for featuring this very special project. Full story at the link in bio.

I know I’m in the minority on this one, but I love interior photography with lamps on (always dimly lit!). They add a certain romance and atmosphere.
