This is just some of the events of the week but there was even more I could have shared. The last 2 weeks have been such an epic way to begin our time on the East coast and I am SO glad I went for it and agreed to fly over from Perth so I could attend!

Firstly, I just love learning and learning never ever stops no matter how long you have been in the industry or how skilled you are. Taking opportunities to grow and learn from others and do it as part of a supportive community is something I will never regret doing. I’ll proudly say, I will continue to take time to learn and grow in years to come.

Secondly, this is the first artist retreat I have ever attended and honestly the first time I have really had the opportunity to feel truly part of an artist community where everyone supports each other, cheers each other on and no one once felt in competition. I’m so glad I’m not going into this industry alone and will always support other aspiring artists who were in my position earlier this year. The world always needs more artists!

Thirdly, just a HUGE thank you to PJ @mural_nomad for creating this community and running this event. You’re changing lives and we are all so grateful for you and everything you do. Also @binx_designs @sambrooksartist @rosemoranceauthor for your amazing workshops and helping to run the retreat, you guys are legends 🩷 (and of course @whereshodgie for your support and videography haha 🫶🏼)

Very excited to take these experiences now with me, let’s see what happens next 💫

5 nights away at a mural artists retreat organised by @mural_nomad with a bunch of other talented creatives.
Great company, delicious food, perfect weather, stunning views, inspiring stories, and lots of learning.
I still can’t believe this is my life 🙂

Day three of our annual muralist retreat started with a free chilled morning in nature. Some hiked, others enjoyed the park…some chose to keep working on their mural design challenge.

A quick swim was the perfect transition into business mood, and we relocated down the street to our extended classroom space provided by our beloved @moogerahcafe1961

This lovely afternoon session was about improving mindset around self representation. This mastermind increased everyone’s efficiency in outreach, explained how to deepen relationships with our clients and uncovered tips from the most recent MN’s outreach campaigns. This session create some serious momentum for the businesses of the artists in the room… 🤩✌🏻🔥

Sunset, then tacos followed by a show and tell presentation of mural designs process and pitches from the exercises from the day before.

We had prizes, we had tears, we had so much admiration and support for one another.

Every year my mind gets blown away by how powerful and transformative these sessions are when done together, with full transparency and curiosity around everyone’s different process. So much inspiration and growth for everyone!

Big shoutout to @binx_designs for leading this part of the retreat and to @pukki.creative and @this_bird for winning the digital design and mural mock-up presentation challenges!✨🔥🦄

By day 3 of this retreat it really feels like a dream: you’re living in a stunning place with your new art friends doing cool stuff together, having a bal…all while feeling a beautiful inner expansion happening.

Every corner of the house is filled with art books, art supplies, snacks… The sketchpads are filling out fast and everyone is sharing their passion for art and exchanging fun and relatable life stories.

We ended the evening watching the finale of Portrait Artist of the Year in the cinema room ✨ Another magical day by the lake!

Day two! Guest speaker and PMP artist @binx_designs running us through a day of magical exercises… she’s the queen of composition, line work and space optimisation. And her mural portfolio exploded over the recent years with stunning commissions and raving clients.

We had fun with procreate, creating multiple digital artworks while expanding our skillset on the iPad. There is something special in sharing your process and being exposed to how other artists do the same thing in different ways. You get inspired, you find shortcuts, you see many artists feel similar ways about so, so many things. It’s vulnerable yet so beautiful and deeply bonding.

Then we had a big presentation on a big mural case study, full PMP style, from how the job came about, behind the scenes of all negotiations and contract clauses to on site shenanigans no one ever hears about… costs and profit breakdowns too.

Then we moved deeper into designs and mockups, with a final task and exercise to design with intention for a hypothetical client.

This annual retreat is crafted with intention so the lessons from the previous days all played a role here, helping and inviting the mural artists to push their comfort zones and pursue growth. I studied and got mentored hard to be a good leader, event manager and to cultivate a community so open and caring.

Binx also shared about her synesthesia and, just like last year, helped another artist realise they have it! It’s a fascinating and unique condition, yet in these rooms breakthroughs like this happen over and over. We’re not that different, or strange…we spent majority of our lives hanging out in places we didn’t belong to that made us feel that way.

Today technology & composition became a fun friends to play with.

There is no footage on my phone of the delicious dinner and the meaningful chats between the spa and the sauna that happened this evening but the group has been enjoying every corner of this house and are becoming great friends, especially after yesterday’s mindset and group exercises...

So wonderful to watch. So wonderful to be part of. ✌🏻🔥❤️

What a gorgeous day!

A quick sneak peek from our first full day at our annual mural artist retreat… what you see is a group of incredible artists hanging out, creating art and enjoying a beautiful location together.

What you don’t see it’s how today was about getting honest with our limiting beliefs and the fear of being visible, honouring our inner creative child and learning how to intentionally and meaningfully connect with creatives around us.

Words cannot fully explain the magic of this big day, but I wanted to share here a glimpse of it while I take a moment of gratitude to reflect on it.

Thank you for showing up so authentically and for being such a cool bad of cats @bethanypayetartist @dannpuk @this_bird @whereshodgie @455custom @hollydreamsinpink @rach_h_designs @binx_designs @rosemoranceauthor @sambrooksartist

So excited for tomorrow 🤩

Would you risk everything for a bond that was never supposed to exist?
Under the Blood Moon is officially live, and after reading it as an ARC, I can say this is for readers who enjoy slow-burn tension and morally grey energy that simmers before it explodes.
Claire starts invisible. Xavier is everything she should avoid. Their connection is instant but complicated by power, politics, and obligation. The push and pull is constant.
Inside you’ll get:
🌙 Fated mates
🚫 Forbidden romance
🐺 Shifter romance
🔥 Slow burn
⚖️ Power imbalance
⏳ Cliffhanger ending
If you like romantasy that builds and does not rush its payoff, grab this on KU.
Congrats @rosemoranceauthor and thank you @literaryinspired for bringing us together as ARC readers.

Thank you, Rose Morance, for the ARC of Under the Blood Moon 🌙
Xavier and Claire’s story was engaging from start to finish. I really enjoyed the soulmate connection that begins with their meeting at a coffee shop.
However, at times I felt the pacing was a bit abrupt, with scenes shifting quickly, which made it slightly difficult to follow the flow of the story. I occasionally had to reread parts to fully understand where the plot was heading. There were also a few inconsistencies, though that may just be a writing style I’m not fully used to yet.the overall storyline is intriguing, and I’m hopeful that in the second book the characters and plot will feel even more clear and immersive. The cliffhanger was strong and definitely left me excited to see what happens next for Xavier and Claire!
Looking forward to the next book ✨📖

Under the Blood Moon by Rose Morance. A Romantasy for the books. This book takes you through a lot of ups and downs. When two fated mates from different worlds stubble upon each other. One a high prince another just a normal mundane girl. This book definitely has a a lot of shock and heartfelt moments. There is a lot of struggles between both man characters within their own life’s. Where I don’t normally enjoy shifter books that are not wolf this one definitely has me hooked after falling in love with Claire and Xavier and the book just leaving you hanging on an insane cliff hanger totally dying to find out what happens next in book two. #bookreview #Bookstagram #BookishLove #RomanceReaders #BookAddict @greyspromo @rosemoranceauthor

If you like your romantasy layered, political, and emotionally tense, this one just dropped on KU.
I was part of the ARC team for Under the Blood Moon and what stood out most was the atmosphere. A modern city. Hidden monsters. A connection that feels intoxicating and wrong at the same time. The romance is deliberate and the stakes are real.
Tropes you’ll find inside:
🌙 Fated mates
👑 Royal x commoner
🏛️ Political betrothal
✨ Magical bond
🛡️ Protector romance
🌑 Dark romantasy
It ends on one heck of a cliffhanger - be prepared!
Huge congratulations to @rosemoranceauthor and thank you to @literaryinspired for organising the ARC read.
Now live on Kindle Unlimited.
