There was a time when I wouldn't even consider cracking open a bourbon barrel aged stout in the middle of the week, but let's be honest; you only live once so enjoy. This bourbon barrel aged Blackburne Imperial Stout from @leftfieldbrewery pours with a nice brown head that disappears fairly quickly. Aromas of chocolate, caramel and bourbon. Tasting rich and sweet with chocolate, bourbon, and caramel with a bit of oak in the finish. Creates a nice warming feeling. Definitely a happy hump day now.

Canada wins gold at the WJHC. What an incredible game and that third period was insane. So proud of these guys bringing home gold. It was an emotional rollercoaster of a game but simply amazing.

Also enjoyed some amazing beers during the game as well. Started things off with a session IPA from @whitewaterbrewingco to warm up the old taste buds. We then moved on to Angelo Della Morte from @bloodbrothersbrewing . This is a nitro sour with amaretto that was so tasty that we had a second one before moving on. Next up was the barrel aged Belgian Quad from @newlimburgbrewery . So complex and smooth after two years of aging. Dead Parrot from @forkedriver was up next. This was a sour olde english ale that was aged in red wine barrels with sour cherries. So delicious. We finished things up with By Any Other Name from @hendersonbrewing . This was a cinnamon bun stout that was fantastic. Liquid cinnamon bun; how can you not love it. Beers worthy of being consumed during a gold medal game.

After a long day today; came home to enjoy this Wide World from @fairweatherbeer . This is a barrel aged wild ale. Pours a nice pillowy white head. Tropical notes filled the air as I poured this beer. Banana stuck out for me. This is followed with some nice funk aromas. Tasting a nice blend of tropical fruit with funky finish and a slight winey oak back end. It's all blended beautifully creating an extremely tasty beer.
