Daily Behind-The-Scenes is here 🎉

We have showed you the final version of the colorscript, with all those pretty lighted scenes, but before finding out the final colored versions for each shot, we did a LOT of research and tried out various color palettes.

Here are some rough research from @rosmaless !

« At the very beginning, my process was very free and I wasn’t limiting myself with color theory, I just put down a lot of colors altogether and see what they lead me to, sometimes they were scrapped because the scenes got removed, but also because the mood wasn’t right or pleasing to the eye, but I had a lot of fun trying to find out weird ambiances and trying to get out of the usual tones we’re used to see ! 🎨

You can also check out the research for the credits illustrations !

Colorscript for @seashells.gobelins !
Swipe to see everything ! 👉
This was a tight collaboration between @rosmaless and @carme.theo, who both have their own strengths and sensibility regarding color. From very immersive settings with a strong feeling of sunlight to dreamy and fun sequences, the film covers a wide range of color palettes. @julie_fourni and @anaellesaba also contributed to several images of the colorscript.

Concept Art batch by Alessandra @rosmaless for the movie ! 🌊

I’m always struggling with making something looked finished BUT the fun of illustrating my ideas to try and find out the mood of a scene is something that’s always pushing me to do concept !

Now, the jetski scene got added very late… we’ll tell you soon more about the secret scene we had to cut 😎 Also got to design A bit of Erika’s stage ! 🧜‍♀️

Team Introduction ! 🌺

I'm Alessandra, I've been working as one of the 4 directors on Dance with the Seashells ! You can find me on @rosmaless 😼

I've mainly worked on color and background art direction, but also had my share of animating our two lovely characters ! I also had the pleasure to write a lot and give many ideas, as I enjoy the writing process.

My team call me a sniper teammate, when I give an idea, it's a critical shot and it ends up playing a big part in the process and story, but I also happen to miss sometimes and had to throw away so many weird ideas 😒

I had a lot of fun making the movie and can't wait to show you guys !
